Who is Maggie Rawlins?<\/h2>\n

Maggie is an American model who was featured on GQ’s website in March 2016.\u00a0 She also participated in a casting call for Sports Illustrated<\/a>‘s Swimsuit edition in March 2016.\u00a0 She is now donating her medical knowledge to patients in need.<\/p>\n

Her Early Life<\/h2>\n

Maggie Rawlins was born on February 18, 1988, in Greenville, South Carolina.\u00a0 She knew she wanted to work in medicine from an early age, but it wasn\u2019t until she was studying biology at the College of Charleston that she settled on a specialty.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had always been interested in the sciences, but my school didn\u2019t have a nursing program.\u00a0 I love being hands-on and working with people.\u00a0 With nursing, you have the opportunity to do that and travel while having some job security.\u201d\u00a0 <\/em>The granddaughter of a night shift nurse, Rawlins also understood the way the profession can touch lives.\u00a0 \u201cThese men and women leave such a mark on the people they help,\u201d <\/em>she says.\u00a0 \u201cNo one appreciates that until they need it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Maggie began her studies in earnest after moving her sophomore year to nursing school in Charlotte, North Carolina.\u00a0 Her decision was solidified after a medical mission trip to Uganda with One World Health, an organization that offers health care to underserved populations around the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was my first time out of the United States, and I loved it,\u201d<\/em> she said. \u201cTheir mission, motto, and the work they do resonated with me; I thought that one day I\u2019d wind up working for them full time because I believe in their long-term mission.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
