Natalia Alexandra Guti\u00e9rrez Batista \u2014 the woman the world now knows as Natti Natasha \u2014 was born on December 10, 1986, in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.\u00a0 Her love for music started early; by age seven, she was enrolled in Santiago\u2019s School of Fine Arts, taking singing classes and living her best little vocalist life.\u00a0 She\u2019s called those early years some of the happiest of her life.<\/p>\n

Growing up, Natti admired a wildly eclectic lineup of artists: Bob Marley, Jerry Rivera, and especially Lauryn Hill, who remains one of her all-time favorites.\u00a0 She also followed Ivy Queen from day one, which is basically the reggaeton version of studying under a Jedi master.<\/p>\n

Fast forward to 2017: Daddy Yankee called, and together they released \u201cOtra Cosa.\u201d\u00a0 But it was her next move that truly changed the game.\u00a0 She dropped \u201cCriminal\u201d with Ozuna, and the song exploded \u2014 top five on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and the most-watched music video of 2017.\u00a0 Not bad for one single.<\/p>\n

Then came \u201cSin Pijama\u201d with Becky G in 2018, her second global smash. It hit number three on the Hot Latin Songs chart, went platinum in three weeks, and passed a billion views in just six months \u2014 becoming the most-watched female-led music video of the year.\u00a0 She also kept the collabs coming, working with Bad Bunny, R.K.M & Ken-Y, Thal\u00eda, and Cosculluela.<\/p>\n
