Ebonee Davis<\/a>, a 24-year old black model captured the spotlight when she became a contestant on the 18th<\/sup> cycle of America\u2019s Next Stop Model<\/a>. With her unbelievable figure and natural beauty, Davis finished in the Top 5.\u00a0 She may have not won the title but she has achieved great success after the show.\u00a0 She was booked by international brands like Calvin Klein, Victoria\u2019s Secret, and L\u2019Oreal.<\/p>\n

How Ebonee Davis Was Discovered?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In an interview with CR Fashionbook, Davis shared how she got into the industry.\u00a0 At a very young age, Davis already knew she wanted to become a model.\u00a0 So, she set her mind into it and made everything to pursue her goal. \u201cI researched local agencies in Seattle, my hometown, and went in for open calls. I signed with Seattle Models Guild at 18 and grew from there.\u201d<\/p>\n

What you don\u2019t know is that Davis went to the casting sneakily.\u00a0 She had to skip the class to go to an open-call casting.<\/p>\n

She started studying to become a physician for mental health before she moved to New York to model full-time. \u201cFinding an agency in New York wasn\u2019t easy though.\u00a0 Agencies were very quick to say that they already represented a girl with my look but I kept trying until finally a door opened.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sports Illustrated Rookie Member<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"Ebonee<\/a><\/p>\n

In 2016, the Seattle-born model was part of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie Class.\u00a0 Expanding the society\u2019s standard of beauty, Davis decided to show her natural hair during the shoot. She said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think my natural hair says anything about me other than that I want to have control over my image.\u00a0 A lot of people associate not wearing weave or straightening your hair with being more enlightened but I don\u2019t agree with that.\u00a0 I\u2019ve straightened my hair and added pieces a few times since I went natural.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing in Sports Illustrated means a lot to me.\u00a0 It\u2019s really a dream come true,\u201d says Davis. \u201cThere\u2019s so many iconic models who have been featured in the magazine\u2026 It\u2019s an honor and privilege to be amongst them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis considers being featured in the swimsuit magazine as one of her career highlights along with shooting for Victoria\u2019s Secret Pink and booking the Calvin Klein campaign twice.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had all three of those jobs listed as career goals for years, so being able to out a check mark next to each one has given me such an immense feeling of accomplishment and gratitude.\u201d<\/p>\n
