Karina is an Australian bikini & fitness<\/a> model, Instagram<\/a> star, and an entrepreneur.\u00a0 She is a self-taught clothing designer who gained her skills through YouTube, she launched Moana Bikini in 2011.\u00a0 Karina also runs the fitness and nutrition guide Bikini Body Burn.\u00a0 And yes, she rose to fame on social media by promoting her bikini range and lifestyle to the world.<\/p>\n

Her Early Life<\/h2>\n

Karina Irby was born on November 2, 1989, Honolulu, Hawai.\u00a0 She was raised, however, in Australia.\u00a0 Growing up, Karina was always extremely active and spent a lot of time outdoors in the sunshine.\u00a0 She says that she was always a beach girl and she spent a lot of time surfing or just plain hanging out on the seaside.\u00a0 Because she spent so much time showing off her body, fitness and working out came naturally to her.\u00a0 And as she worked out and built her physique, she also became more annoyed with the type of bikini sold in Australia.<\/p>\n

“Back in school, at swim carnivals, I was so paranoid about this crease that I used to wear board shorts because I was like ‘why don\u2019t the other girls have creases?\u00a0 That\u2019s so embarrassing.’\u00a0 But these days I love to show off my booty.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The Start of Moana<\/h2>\n

Through spending so much time in the seaside environment and wearing bikinis, Karina decided that a great way to create a passive income would be to design her own outfits…\u00a0 She decided to design her own range from an $800 loan from her father and immediately began to make sales across the country.<\/p>\n

“I always thought that whenever I wore normal sized bikini bottoms, they would always droop.\u00a0 So I went out of my way to get the right pair, but at the time no one really sold small bikinis.\u00a0 Friends always joked: ‘You should design bikinis.’\u00a0 because I was forever searching for ones that fit well.\u00a0 But I didn’t know anything, I didn’t sew, I didn’t know anything about fabric, I was completely uneducated.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Her brand began to make waves and she capitalized by creating a website and social media account for the 2016 line.<\/p>\n

She once worked at Rip Curl, where she was fired, through a phone call, by her boss because of a rumor he heard.\u00a0 At the time, bills and rent are piling up and Karina couldn’t couldn’t afford to be jobless.\u00a0 But the said incident is a blessing in disguise…<\/p>\n
