Clearing the votes would wipe out over 3 million votes. It would take years before any type of resemblance of order came back again. If you remember the whole Bar Refaeli incident (
http://hotnessrater.com/community/threads/integrity-of-the-site.81/) that was caused by simply resetting the ratings and recalculating. None of the votes were deleted. Deleting the votes too would cause all the pictures in the top 100 to be completely different for months... and it would be mostly random pictures. You'd see girls that are 3-5 right now in the top 100 just because they won a couple votes.
The system doesn't require a large number of votes for a girl to get highly rated. A new picture with 30 votes could easily get a higher rating than Svetlana. If you look at the Hottest New Uploads on the main page, they are all rated higher than the top Svetlana picture. The only reason they aren't ahead of her is that we require 30 eligible votes before a picture appears in the top lists for stability reasons just so those pictures aren't constantly changing from any picture winning a few votes.
Now I do agree that something really needs to be done. HotnessRater doesn't seem to have this issue but it also gets more votes than BabesRater. It might need more votes and a little time to work itself out. I'll monitor the top 100 pictures and see what happens. Right now there are 49 pictures of her in the top 100 pictures list. I might have to delete some votes (like wipe out some votes so no picture has over 100 or something). Even if I did that, it would take weeks to stabilize as pictures jumped around from recalculating. I would rather see it work itself out so if in the next couple days I see this fixing itself, I might not have to do anything.
I just don't want to do something drastic that I know would cause other problems if its not needed
