I don't know what you mean by "image value".... are you proposing I set the price of pictures based on this?I've proposed and revised several methods of evaluating image value. At the moment I most favor the following:
( 10 * ( 1 + number of owners squared )) +
( 2 * lifetime views ) +
winning matchup votes +
( 1000 * BotD victories )
Currently they don't have to do that at all. Just set the price. It is a lot more resistant to price pumping than currently.
So it sounds like you only want to count each account twice. So if 3 people battle over a picture back and forth and push it up into the millions, it doesn't make it worth any more than a picture that was bought and sold twice. That doesn't seem right either. It is a lot more resistant to price pumping than currently. If you used 20 accounts to pump the number of owners, it still only gets you a base value of 4000.
So you are saying these pictures should be worth something more because they won battles of the day:And yeah, seems to me a pic is more valuable if it has won a BotD
Why? Being selected for battle of day is no reflection on the quality of the picture, so why would winning it be? So a 7 picture won a battle against another 7 picture.... who cares? It doesn't make that picture anything special.Make it 500 if you like. It just seems to me it should be worth something to a pic if it wins one
Hmm, looks like a lot of your BotDs were of a humorous nature. Okay then, take it out.So you are saying these pictures should be worth something more because they won battles of the day:
Yeah that's what I meantNo, I want to count each account once
I agree. Honestly I can't think of a good way to really determine "net worth" which is why it just goes by points at hand currently. The idea was that if you spend some of that getting pictures, it is with the hope that it will pay back therefore increasing your cash on hand too. I understand its not a true expression of worth, but either is some formula that we make up based on views or whatever else you base it on.But it isn't a purchase price. Nobody has paid that, so there is no reason to believe the pic is worth that. It is of no value in establishing a player's net worth.
