Unrated Pics / Pics with few votes

(1) There was an issue with the site a while back where all pics seemed to have lost their scores. Scores slowly returned but it seems like there are a lot more "Unrated" pics now than there were before. Is this expected? Will that ever go back to normal?

(2) Anecdotally there seems to be a skewed distribution of votes on pictures. There are lots of pictures with only a handful of votes and there are also pictures that already have 100s of votes that continue to appear on the voting page. Why is this the case rather than spreading out the votes?

1) The system got completely messed up and confused from a couple people entering in a large number of incorrect votes. I mean it was obvious, they consistently voted for 5s or less under girls that should have been 9s. These votes were cleaned out so its not surprising a lot of pictures would go back to unrated. As we get more valid votes in the system pictures will get rated.

2) There are all sorts of factors that determine what pictures get put into our voting queue. To help our top 100 not become stale, we always put those pictures into the queue also. If they stay in the top 100 and defend their position, they could rack up a large number of votes.
