This Timeless Tuesday feature is going to be your favorite. We know, because it is one of ours. Yes, because we are geeks and we’ve been crushing on her since her Battlestar Galactica days.
She is now 50 years old but man, we still see are as her character on Hawaii Five-O. Grace Park, Kelly Hu, and Jamie Chung are the subject of many boy’s dreams. They just give off this oriental hotness that is irresistible. And Grace is the top among the three mentioned.
Who is Grace Park?
Grace Park is an American-born Canadian actress and model who has appeared in the science-fiction series Battlestar Galactica, the Canadian teen soap opera Edgemont, the police procedural Hawaii Five-O, and the film A Million Little Things.
Her Early Life
Grace Park was born on March 14, 1974, in Los Angeles. She is of Korean heritage. Grace moved with her family to Canada when she was only 22 months old and was raised in Kerrisdale, Vancouver. She graduated from Magee Secondary School in 1992 and holds a degree in psychology from the University of British Columbia.
Career Journey
When Grace was 25, she was cast as high school student Shannon Ng in the Canadian adolescent serial series Edgemont. She then participated in the 2003 miniseries Battlestar Galactica and reprised her roles in following seasons and films.
Grace starred in the 2007 crime drama West 32nd, which is set in New York City’s Korean neighborhood. Following that, she played Lt. Sandra Telfair in Electronic Arts’ Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, with her Battlestar Galactica co-star Tricia Helfer.
In 2008, she co-starred in the A&E series The Cleaner, which was canceled on September 25, 2009, and the CBC series The Border, which was canceled in 2010. Grace had an uncredited cameo appearance in the twentieth episode of the ninth season of the television show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, titled “A Space Oddity”. She also appeared as a fan in a throng at a science fiction conference, objecting against a gritty recreation of a Star Trek-style series similar to the Battlestar Galactica remake in which she starred. She appeared in the 2009 television film Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, reprising her role in the series.
In 2010, she played Eva Kahn in the Fox series Human Target and Kono Kalakaua in the CBS remake of Hawaii Five-0.
Facts and Trivia
In 2004, Park married Phil Kim, a real estate entrepreneur. The two live in Vancouver. They have a son, born in 2013.
Grace Park is a former member of the NXIVM, a multi-level marketing organization and sex cult, and has appeared in video interviews with its founder, Keith Raniere.
After graduating from college, Park gave herself a year to attempt acting and was quickly cast in the teen drama Edgemont (2000).
Grace sang alto in the high school chorus. She was ranked #60 in “Maxim’s Hot 100 of 2010”.
She received KoreAm’s Achievement Award for Entertainment in 2010 and has appeared on the cover of KoreAm Journal magazine several times.
