Anne rose to prominence as the host of the long-running noontime show It’s Showtime, as well as starring in films such as No Other Woman and Baler. She has recorded music and is well-known in the fashion and cosmetics industries.
Anne’s films have earned ₱1.87 billion, making her one of the highest-grossing Filipino box office stars ever. Her Early Life
Anne Ojales Curtis-Smith was born in Yarrawonga, Victoria, Australia. She is the daughter of a Filipina and an Australian lawyer of German, Italian, Irish, and English ancestry. Her younger sister, Jasmine, is also an actress.
Anne traveled to the Philippines with her family in 1997, when she was 11 years old. During the trip, a talent scout approached her and invited her to participate in a children’s beauty pageant. Despite her father’s initial skepticism, Anne, with the encouragement of her mother, chose to pursue prospects in the entertainment industry. Without her father’s knowledge, she began visiting numerous talent agencies. Eventually, the family decided to settle permanently in the Philippines.
Career Journey
In 1997, Curtis had her film debut in Magic Kingdom: Ang Alamat ng Damortis. Afterward, she signed with Viva Films and GMA Network. The rest is history after that as she appeared in countless movies, TV shows and series, ads (print and commercials), multiple endorsements, concerts (yes, she has also forayed into being a singer), fashion, and social media.
Philanthropy and Advocacies
Anne became a celebrity advocate for UNICEF Philippines in March 2015, after having supported the organization since 2009. As an advocate, she traveled to areas of Leyte damaged by Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 to meet with children and families affected by the storm and monitor recovery efforts.
Curtis launched the “Heroes for Children Run” marathon in October 2015 to raise funds for UNICEF’s “1,000 Days of Life” program. The next year, Anne published her debut book, Anita, The Duckling Diva, in conjunction with UNICEF Philippines.
In 2019, she was named UNICEF’s National Goodwill Ambassador.

Anne gave birth to their child, Dahlia Amélie, on March 2, 2020. The name “Dahlia” is reported to be based on the name of her character in her 1997 first film, Magic Kingdom: Ang Alamat ng Damortis.

Anne was honored as a wax figure in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong’s Glamour Zone on December 9, 2024, for her exceptional talent and contributions to the entertainment industry. The figure, dressed in a cream Dior gown and clutching a microphone adorned with timeless silver jewelry, was unveiled in Makati City on November 27.
