Alexa is an English television presenter, fashion designer, and former fashion model. She has walked for Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, and Miu Miu, as well as been the face of Pepe Jeans, Lacoste, DKNY Jeans, Tommy Hilfiger, and Longchamp.
Alexa has been acknowledged for her stylish sense. She has been dubbed “the 21st-century it girl” and “a proto-influencer”. Alexa Chung was born in Winchester, Hampshire, England, the youngest of four children, and grew up in nearby Privett. The daughter of Gillian and Phillip Chung. Her father, a graphic designer, has Chinese ancestry via three grandparents and English lineage through one, but her mother, a homemaker, is English. She had horseback riding and dance training growing up.
Alexa attended the local Perins School for secondary education before moving on to Peter Symonds College in Winchester for A-Levels. She was accepted to King’s College London to study English and Chelsea College of Arts to study art, but a modelling agency scouted her at the Reading Festival when she was 16 years old.

Alexa credits the BBC One programme The Clothes Show with sparking her interest in fashion as a child. She was discovered after appearing in the comedy tent at the Reading Festival at the age of 16, and she has posed for teen magazines such as Elle Girl and CosmoGIRL!Fanta, Sony Ericsson, Sunsilk, Urban Outfitters, and Tampax are among the companies where he has worked.
Alexa has also performed in music videos for The Streets, Westlife, Delta Goodrem, Reuben, and Holly Valance, as well as starring as Jake in Shoot Me, a scripted reality show that aired on Fashion TV in 2005. Alexa’s distinct personal style has inspired several fashion designers. She regularly appears on best-dressed lists, models for Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar, and sits in the front row at fashion shows.
Mulberry, a designer handbag business, launched the “Alexa” in January 2010, a popular bag named after and inspired by her. According to The Guardian, 380 “Alexa” bags were sold in a single week in November 2010, and the firm attributed the bag’s success to higher sales in its UK and worldwide stores that year.
Alexa contributed a monthly column to the British women’s magazine Company from October 2007 until June 2008. From November 2008 to June 2009, she authored a weekly newspaper column for Britain’s The Independent under the titles “Girl About Town” and later “New York Doll”. She joined British Vogue as a contributing editor in June 2009. She interviewed designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Christopher Kane for the magazine and wrote a cover article about Kate Upton. Alexa lived with David Titlow, a fashion photographer 20 years her senior, for three and a half years from 2003 to 2006. She was in a four-year relationship with Arctic Monkeys vocalist Alex Turner from July 2007 to July 2011; they lived together in London and then in New York, where Alexa bought an apartment in the East Village. In a 2013 interview, Alexa revealed that Turner was still her “best friend”. The former couple was photographed together on several occasions in 2014. She dated actor Alexander Skarsgård from 2015 to early 2017.
Alexa shared her endometriosis diagnosis in an Instagram post on July 28, 2020, and urged other people to become aware of it. In May 2024, it was reported that Alexa was engaged to actor Tom Sturridge.
