Our Timeless Tuesday Feature For This Week Is Veronika Varekova

Today’s Timeless feature is from the Czech Republic.  Yup, none other than the goddessy Veronika Vařeková.  She is just oozing with sexiness.  A hotness that will last a lifetime and one that will always give you a tingling sensation every time you remember her.

Veronika Vařeková

Veronika has appeared on countless magazines and billboards around the globe, and she is familiar to those who don’t even know her by name.  Because once upon a time, we are sure you’ve come across a photo of her.

Who is Veronika Vařeková

This stunning woman has graced the covers of numerous magazines—including the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue—because, frankly, the camera loves her.  She’s posed for legendary photographers like Patrick Demarchelier, Gilles Bensimon, Ellen von Unwerth, Greg Kadel, and Peter Lindbergh (basically a who’s who of fashion photography).

Her face (and hair, and smile, and everything else) has fronted campaigns for major brands like Gap, Chanel, Guess, Nivea, Escada, Chopard, Pantene, Ungaro, Patek Philippe, Hublot, Victoria’s Secret, and Newport News.  If it’s stylish, luxurious, or smells expensive, she’s probably modeled for it.

And she didn’t just stop at magazines and billboards.  She’s also popped up on TV, charming audiences on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CNN, Charlie Rose, and Fox and Friends. In short, she’s been everywhere—and looked amazing doing it.

Her Early Life

Veronika Vařeková was born on June 19, 1977, in Olomouc, Czech Republic—a place known for its charm, but not exactly a global fashion capital.  That changed when she packed her bags at 19 and moved to New York City to study at the Parsons School of Design (because why not aim high?).

Not long after landing in Manhattan, she met with Next Models, and they signed her on the spot. No surprise there—Veronika walking into a modeling agency is basically the modeling equivalent of a mic drop.

Facts and Trivia

According to a 2001 Sports Illustrated article, Veronika Vařeková isn’t just a pretty face—she speaks three languages and holds degrees in psychology and education.  Beauty and brains? Check and check.

In 2004, she married Czech-Canadian hockey player Petr Nedvěd.  The marriage didn’t quite go into overtime—they split in 2006—but hey, not every game goes into a shootout.

In 2008, Veronika took her adventurous spirit to new heights—literally—by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.  While in Tanzania, she connected with the African Wildlife Foundation, and by October 2009, she was officially named a Goodwill Ambassador for the organization.  Back home in Olomouc, she also gives back as a patron volunteer at the SZPD Orphanage. Turns out, she’s got a heart as impressive as her résumé.
