But even up to now, she possesses the same level of hotness, really.  She is now 36 years old, but a lot of you would choose her over the younger ones.  And yes, expect her to appear in a lot of our Battle of the Day.  So, let’s get to know her a bit, shall we?

Who is Cristine Reyes

Cristine Reyes is a Filipino actress whose mix of talent, charisma, and on-screen magnetism has earned her the title “Ultimate Star” from local media.  With her films raking in over ₱1.05 billion at the box office, she’s cemented her place as one of the highest-grossing Filipino movie stars of the 21st century.

Often hailed as part of the “New Drama Royalty” of her generation, Cristine has the awards to back it up.  She shared the “Box Office Queen” crown with Anne Curtis at the 43rd GMMSF Box Office Entertainment Awards and has been nominated for four FAMAS Awards — including three for Best Actress.  In 2020, she took home the Best Actress award at the 40th Oporto International Film Festival for her gripping performance in the psychological thriller Untrue (2019).

But Cristine’s appeal goes beyond her acting chops. Known for her bold confidence and undeniable allure, she was named FHM Philippines’ “Sexiest Woman in the World” in 2009 — beating out some of the country’s biggest stars — and was later recognized as one of the Top 25 Sexiest Women of the Decade.

Her Early Life

Cristine Reyes was born Ara Cristine Pascual Klenk on February 5, 1989, in Marikina City, Metro Manila.  In a 2024 interview with Karen Davila, she opened up about her adoption, sharing how her mother had to move to the United States and left her children in the care of others — a chapter of her life she’s since spoken about with honesty and grace.  She also talked about reconnecting with her biological father, a Muslim from Tawi-Tawi, whom she visited in Zamboanga before his passing in 2022.  It’s a story that shows Cristine’s strength — and how she’s learned to balance both fame and family with heart.

Career Journey

Cristine first stepped into the spotlight as a finalist on GMA Network’s StarStruck — the reality talent show that launched a new generation of stars.  She quickly made her mark, appearing in hit series like Mulawin (2004), Darna (2005), and Marimar (2007), proving she had both range and staying power.

In 2008, she made a bold move to rival network ABS-CBN, where she embraced more mature, dramatic roles in shows like Eva Fonda (2008) and Tubig at Langis (2016).  A year later, Viva Films founder Vic del Rosario cast her in the horror film Patient X, but her true breakout came in 2011 with No Other Woman.  Playing a betrayed wife opposite Anne Curtis and Derek Ramsay, Cristine helped turn the film into one of the year’s biggest box-office hits — and solidified her status as a leading lady to watch.

After the ABS-CBN shutdown in 2020, Cristine made a much-anticipated homecoming to GMA Network after 12 years away.  Then, in 2022, she took on a headline-making role as Imee Marcos in Maid in Malacañang, a historical drama about the Marcos family’s final days in power — a role she reprised in the 2023 sequel Martyr or Murderer.

By 2024, Cristine was back on screens everywhere, appearing on It’s Showtime, which now airs across multiple networks, from GMA to A2Z.  She’s also been working on new projects with TV5, thanks to its renewed partnership with Viva — proving that no matter the network, Cristine Reyes always finds her spotlight.

Facts and Trivia

Cristine’s love life has had its fair share of headlines over the years. She dated actor Dennis Trillo from 2007 to 2009 and Rayver Cruz from 2011 to 2012, and was briefly linked to Derek Ramsay in 2013.  Along the way, she’s also been associated with fellow actors Joross Gamboa, Keempee de Leon, and Mark Herras — proving that even the “Ultimate Star” isn’t immune to a little showbiz romance.

In 2015, Cristine welcomed her daughter, Amarah, with mixed martial artist Ali Khatibi.  The couple got engaged later that year and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on Balesin Island in January 2016.  Though they separated in 2019, the two have remained on good terms — even reuniting in May 2024 to celebrate Amarah’s moving-up ceremony.
