There’s something strangely comforting about scrolling through her photos.  Bad day?  Low mood?  One look and suddenly you’re distracted, dreaming, and momentarily forgetting whatever was stressing you out. Molly-Mae has that rare talent of being a total visual pick-me-up—proof that some people really are bombshells in every season.

Who is Molly Mae Hague

Molly-Mae Hague is an English reality TV star, influencer, and businesswoman who shot to fame on Love Island in 2019, finishing as runner-up alongside Tommy Fury.  But she didn’t stop at villa fame—she went on to become one of the UK’s biggest influencers, landing a major role as PrettyLittleThing’s Creative Director (yes, really).

After stepping away from the fashion giant, Molly-Mae shifted her focus to motherhood with her daughter, Bambi, while continuing to grow her own brand, Filter.  From reality TV finalist to full-blown mogul, she’s proof that a Love Island glow-up can come with a business plan.

Her Early Life

Molly-Mae Hague was born on May 26, 1999, in Stevenage and raised in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, growing up in a household where both parents were police officers—so yes, rules were very much a thing.  She has one sister and attended The Priory School in Hitchin before setting her sights on bigger stages.

As a teenager, Molly-Mae dipped her toes into the pageant world and quickly proved she wasn’t just there for the sash.  She was crowned Miss Teen Hertfordshire in 2015, followed by World Teen Supermodel UK in 2016, and went on to place as first runner-up at the international competition. Basically, even before social media fame, she was already collecting titles and turning heads.

Career Journey

Molly-Mae Hague entered the Love Island villa in 2019 on Day 4 and wasted absolutely no time making an impact.  She coupled up with Tommy Fury, the pair became one of the series’ biggest power couples, and they cruised all the way to the final—finishing in second place.  Along the way, she also popped up in the spin-off The Boxer & The Ballroom Dancer with Tommy and Curtis Pritchard, plus made an appearance on Tyson Fury: The Gypsy King. Casual side quests.  By the time she left the villa, her Instagram following had exploded from around 160,000 to nearly three million—arguably the most dramatic transformation of the series.

Post-villa, Molly-Mae went straight into boss mode.  She reportedly signed a £500,000 deal with PrettyLittleThing and, after initially serving as a brand ambassador, was promoted to Creative Director in August 2021—a move that broke the internet and sparked many opinions.  She also launched her own self-tanning range and landed sponsorship deals with brands like Starbucks, proving she could sell just about anything with a single post.

In August 2023, she appeared on Netflix’s At Home with the Furys, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at life with Tommy and the famously chaotic Fury family.  Then in November 2024, Amazon Prime Video confirmed a brand-new series centred on Molly-Mae, set to premiere in January 2025.  The show clearly struck a chord—by September 2025, she won a National Television Award for Behind It All in the Authored Documentary category, and just a month later, a second season was officially announced. From reality TV contestant to award-winning documentary star, Molly-Mae’s post-villa era is doing just fine.

Controversies

Not all of Molly-Mae Hague’s post-villa moments have been smooth sailing.  In March 2021, she found herself in hot water after running an £8,000 Instagram prize draw that didn’t quite play by the rules.  The Advertising Standards Authority stepped in, ruling that she couldn’t provide evidence the winners had been selected randomly and fairly—cue a reminder that giveaways need paperwork, not just good vibes.

Later that year, on 13 December 2021, Molly-Mae appeared on Steven Bartlett’s The Diary of a CEO podcast, where a conversation about success, money, and motivation quickly snowballed.  Some of her comments about poverty and wealth inequality—particularly the now-infamous “we all have the same 24 hours in a day” line—were widely criticised as tone-deaf and out of touch.  The backlash was loud enough to spark calls for her resignation as PrettyLittleThing’s creative director, proving that podcasts can be just as risky as live TV.

Then, in July 2022, she hit another minor bump when one of her Instagram posts was banned for not being clearly labelled as an advert.  A small but public reminder that influencer life comes with strict rules—and the internet is always watching.

Facts and Trivia

Molly-Mae Hague’s love story with boxer Tommy Fury has been anything but boring.  The pair met on Love Island in 2019 and went on to be one of the show’s most famous couples, staying together until 2024.  During that time, they lived together in Cheshire before upgrading their postcode to Hale, Greater Manchester—very much a power-couple move.

In September 2022, they announced they were expecting their first child, and welcomed their daughter on 23 January 2023.  A few months later, on 23 July 2023, Tommy popped the question and the couple got engaged, sending the internet into full meltdown mode.

Then came the plot twist.  In August 2024, Molly-Mae confirmed that the relationship had ended.  But this is Love Island, after all—nothing is ever truly final.  In May 2025, she announced that she and Tommy were back together, proving that some love stories just like to keep everyone guessing.
