Who is Camila Rodrigues
Camila Rodrigues (full name Camila Minosso Rodrigues) is a Brazilian actress best known for stealing the spotlight as Nefertari in Os Dez Mandamentos and as Sophia Alencar in Topíssima.
She’s built a solid career across major networks like TV Globo and RecordTV, but it was her role as Nefertari in 2016 that really put her on the international map.
Fun fact: she didn’t originally set out to be an actress. She started in fashion studies, then switched gears to theater.
Her Early Life
Camila Rodrigues was born on August 23, 1983, in Santo André, São Paulo, to Eliete Minosso de Souza and José Álvaro de Souza. She grew up alongside her siblings, Dalila and Kauê—so yes, a full house and probably plenty of personality to go around.
She actually started out studying fashion (plot twist), but somewhere along the way realized the spotlight was calling a little louder. So, she switched paths and trained in acting at the Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras—and safe to say, that career pivot paid off.

She made her TV debut in 2005 on TV Globo in América, playing Mariana—aka “Mari”—the sister of the main character. From there, she kept the momentum going with roles in shows like Sítio do Picapau Amarelo, Desejo Proibido, and Malhação.
Her film debut came in 2006 with O Cavaleiro Didi e a Princesa Lili, where she played the adult version of Lili—because why not add movies to the résumé early on?
In 2012, she made a big move to RecordTV, where her career really leveled up. She appeared in multiple projects, but it was her role as Nefertari in Os Dez Mandamentos (2016) that brought her international recognition. She also showed a different side as a host on Família Record and even joined Dancing Brasil in 2018—because clearly, acting wasn’t enough, she had to dance too.
In 2019, she took on her first leading role in Topíssima as Sophia Alencar—a powerful, successful businesswoman with a soft spot (and a busy schedule). The character, loosely inspired by Sandra Bullock’s role in The Proposal, blended strength with humor, and fans loved her chemistry with co-star Felipe Cunha. She even reprised the role briefly in Amor Sem Igual in 2020.
She later returned to her roots in the biblical genre in Gênesis, playing the ambitious and strategic antagonist Nadi—proving she can play both queen and villain equally well. In 2022, she was set to join Reis but stepped away due to pregnancy (real life comes first), and was replaced by Francisca Queiroz.
