Brazilian Beauty Giulia Benite Will Brighten Up Your Day

At just 18, Giulia Benite is already giving off the kind of “future Hollywood star” energy that makes the rest of us question what we’ve accomplished lately.

For now, the Brazilian beauty is still taking on smaller roles, but let’s be honest: the résumé is only one part of the equation.  She’s got the acting chops, the screen presence, and, yes, the looks to make a serious run at A-list territory.  Hollywood may not have handed her the keys to the kingdom just yet, but the invitation is clearly in the mail.

So, before everyone starts claiming they “knew her when,” let’s get to know Giulia Benite a little better.

Who is Giulia Benite

Giulia Benite is a Brazilian actress who shot to national fame playing Mônica in the live-action adaptations of Brazil’s beloved comic-book franchise, Monica and Friends (Turma da Mônica).  In other words, she didn’t exactly make a quiet entrance—she stepped into the shoes of one of Brazil’s most iconic characters and promptly became a household name.

Her Early Life

Giulia Benite was born on June 14, 2008, in São Paulo to Clenci Benite and Adriana Barreto.  She also has a sister, Bela Benite, who studied theater—so perhaps a little of the performing-arts bug was already floating around the family.

Inspired by Bela, Giulia decided to give acting a shot herself.  Her first attempts at landing film roles, however, didn’t exactly go according to plan.  She auditioned, but came away unsuccessful.  Apparently, even future stars have to collect a few “thanks, but no thanks” before Hollywood—or in this case, Brazilian cinema—starts paying attention.

Career Journey

Giulia Benite’s big break came in April 2017, when she auditioned for the role of Mônica in Laços—and, thankfully, the casting gods said yes.  The film arrived in 2019, and Giulia’s performance earned plenty of praise, quickly opening the door to more work.

That same year, she appeared in the series Segunda Chamada and filmed 10 Hours for Christmas, alongside Luis Lobianco, Lorena Queiroz and Pedro Miranda.  Her turn as Mônica also earned her the Newcomer of the Year award at Meus Prêmios Nick. Not a bad first chapter.

In 2021, Giulia returned as Mônica for Lições, the sequel to Laços, while also appearing in the second and final season of Segunda Chamada.  A year later, she slipped back into the iconic character once again for the finale of the Turma da Mônica – A Série trilogy.

Then came 2024, when Giulia took on a very different role as Bebel, a young woman in a wheelchair who leaves the countryside for the big city to pursue her studies in Chama a Bebel, which premiered in theaters in January.  By May, she was back on the big screen in De Repente, Miss, a comedy starring Fabiana Karla and Danielle Winits.

At this point, “busy” might be an understatement.  Giulia seems to have made collecting acting credits a full-time hobby.

Facts and Trivia

Giulia Benite has already had a couple of brushes with some seriously big international roles.  In 2020, she auditioned for America Chavez in Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and made it through the first round.  The part ultimately went to Xochitl Gomez, but Giulia clearly wasn’t done knocking on Hollywood’s door.  In 2022, she auditioned for Annabeth Chase in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, though Leah Jeffries ultimately landed the role.

There was just one tiny complication during that Marvel audition: Giulia didn’t speak English at the time.  So what did she do?  She memorized the script phonetically, with help from an English teacher, and powered through it.  The experience apparently worked as a wake-up call, inspiring her to study English intensely every day.  Nothing like a Marvel audition to turn language learning into a full-time mission.

Back home, her family has a much cuter name for her: “Limãozinho,” meaning “Little Lemon.”  Her aunt gave her the nickname because Giulia was apparently a little “sour” as a young child.  Adorable?  Yes.  Also, mildly devastating if you’re the aunt who came up with it.

Despite playing the fiery and fearless Mônica on screen, Giulia says she’s actually extremely shy at school and around people she doesn’t know.  So, apparently, Mônica gets the confidence while Giulia gets the awkward small talk.

And then there are the culinary deal-breakers. Giulia strongly dislikes Catupiry cheese and traditional Brazilian coxinhas—so much so that she can’t even stand their smell.  That may be controversial in Brazil, but hey, every celebrity needs at least one opinion capable of starting a national debate.

As for her favorite Disney character?  Merida from Brave.  Giulia admired her strong, independent personality, which makes perfect sense for someone who has already spent years chasing big roles and refusing to let a few “no”s ruin the audition.

Her Body Measurements

Giulia stands 5 feet, 6 inches and she rocks a slim 32.5-25.5-36.5 figure.
