Who is Stephanie Seymour?
Stephanie is an American fashion model and actress who made quite a name during the 1980s and 1990s. She has appeared on the cover of Vogue and Playboy, has been featured in the Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated, and has become a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Stephanie has also appeared in other advertisements for established clothing and cosmetic brands. She has also appeared in one film and several TV shows. Oh, and a video game too.
In 2017, she launched her own lingerie line.
Stephanie is also an author and has written a book about beauty tips and maintenance.
Her Early Life
Stephanie Seymour was born on the 23rd of July, 1968 in San Diego, California. From her early adolescence, it was clear that the towering, stunningly beautiful young lady was ideal modeling material, and she quickly began getting local print work. After winning a modeling contest sponsored by Elite, Stephanie moved to New York to work as a model for him at Elite, eventually developing a relationship with Casablancas, who left his wife to live with the young Stephanie.
Modeling Career
Stephanie Seymour began modeling at the age of 16, working for both local newspapers and department stores. She was a finalist in the Elite Model Management Look of the Year modeling competition in 1983. After that, Stephanie posed for Vogue and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. From 1993 to 1999, Seymour was one of Victoria’s Secret’s lead models. She also posed for Playboy magazine at the time.
In 2006, Stephanie and her kids posed in a campaign for the clothing brand Gap. She then appeared in Salvatore Ferragamo’s fall/winter 2007/2008 advertisements. Stephanie co-founded the Raven & Sparrow lingerie line in 2017. This collection of stylish vintage-inspired pieces includes everything from rompers and camisoles to silk nightgowns and robes.
Stephanie Seymour made her acting debut in the video game ‘Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller’ in 1994. She then starred in the film ‘Pollock’ in 2000. She appeared in an episode of the drama ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’ two years later.
Facts and Trivia
Stephanie began dating Elite Model Management’s much older head, John Casablancas when she was 16 years old. The couple lived together for a while before splitting up. Stephanie was married to American guitarist Tommy Andrews from 1989 to 1990. Dylan Thomas Andrews, her first son, was born in 1990 as a result of this marriage.
Following this, she was linked to Guns & Roses singer Axl Rose. Following their breakup, Stephanie began dating Peter Brant, who was married at the time. In 1993, she gave birth to Brant’s son, Peter II. Brant and Stephanie married in 1995. In 1996, the couple welcomed another son, Harry, and a daughter, Lily Margaret, in 2004. She divorced Brant in 2009, but the couple reconciled the following year.
She graced the cover of Allure magazine’s first issue… It was the March 1991 issue of the magazine.
On January 17, 2021, her son, Harry Brant, died of an accidental prescription drug overdose.
