Who is Lizzy Jagger?
Lizzy Jagger is an American-English lobbyist, fashion model, and actress. She made a significant breakthrough in 2002 when she was signed as the face of the cosmetic brand Lancôme. She has since modeled for companies such as Mango, Wrangler, and Gap. Furthermore, Lizzy is a prominent women’s rights activist who successfully advocated for the ‘Equal Rights Amendment’ in Illinois in 2018. She has also appeared in films like Igby Goes Down and Arena, as well as the Mick Jagger documentary ‘Being Mick.’
Her Early Life
Elizabeth Scarlett Jagger was born in New York City (March 2, 1984), to Mick Jagger’s second wife. Lizzy is one of the eight children of ‘The Rolling Stones’ star, who is known for his many relationships over the years. Her mother, Jerry Hall, was a popular model.
Mick and Jerry were never legally married, but they did have an unofficial wedding ceremony. Elizabeth was born in the midst of a Rolling Stones tour in New York. She soon moved to London, where she spent the majority of her adolescent years. Her childhood was never confined to a single location, and when she wasn’t on tour with her father, she was on tour with her model mother.
When she was four years old, she became aware of her mother’s glamorous profession. She accompanied her mother to a ‘Chanel’ shoot, according to reports. She was inspired by it and began experimenting with makeup and dresses.
Lizzy’s father was mostly away on tours, but when he returned home, he made time for her. He is also known to be a very controlling man, and he was upset when Elizabeth told him she wanted to go into modeling. He was opposed to Elizabeth’s modeling before she became an adult.
Career Journey
Lizzy began modeling for brands when she was 14 years old. She first walked the runway in 1998, at a show organized by famous designer Theirry Mugler. It was her first full-fledged modeling experience, and she found it fascinating.
She sang backup vocals on Mick Jagger’s 1999 ‘Babylon Tour,’ alongside her younger sister, Georgia May Jagger.
In 1999, she made a cameo appearance in the documentary film ‘Being Mick,’ which was based on her father, Mick, and featured interviews with many members of her family discussing how Mick was as a father and a husband.
She received a significant modeling break in 2002 when she was signed as the face of the popular cosmetic line ‘Lancôme’ for its LCM range. Lancôme is a well-known French luxury perfume and cosmetics line from the L’Oréal family, which has previously signed the biggest models and actors to promote its products. As a result, it was a huge break for Elizabeth.
Lizzy once stated that she had always been thin and that her thin frame had cost her several important jobs in the early 2000s.
In 2005, she was hired as the face of the well-known Spanish fashion retailer ‘Mango.’
Lizzy was chosen as the face of the ‘New Skinny Lingerie Campaign’ in early 2013, and later that year, she starred in an ad campaign for American jeans brand Wrangler.
Lizzy has also promoted clothing brands such as Redken and Gap. She walked the runway for Tommy Hilfiger in 2016, and French designer Sonia Rykiel in 2018.
She was featured in an editorial for ‘Vogue Italia’ in 2016. Lizzy has also appeared on the cover of ‘Style,’ a fashion magazine published by ‘The Sunday Times.’
Lizzy dabbled in acting for a time. She made her acting debut in the 2002 film ‘Igby Goes Down,’ playing a minor role. She had a small role in the TV series ‘Love Advent’ in 2014.
Lizzy played herself in the documentary films ‘Arena’ and ‘The South Bank Show.’ She has openly expressed her disdain for Hollywood, claiming that it is a sham and that she does not belong there.
