Who is Angelica Teixeira?
Angelica is an IFBB fitness athlete and model who was crowned Ms. Bikini Olympia in 2017 and won the Arnold Classic bikini contest. She had previously won first place in contests such as the 2016 Salt City Showdown and Pittsburgh Pro.
She has modeled for fitness publications like Flex Magazine and Fitness Curves Magazine.
Her Early Life
Angelica Teixeira was born on March 10, 1985, in Brazil. She spent eight years practicing jazz dance, which helped her build and tone from an early age.

“In my country, almost everybody is very fit. You’re always surrounded by fit people and this makes you ensure you’re always in good shape.”
As a result of her active upbringing, Angelica developed an interest in weight training. It was at this point that she decided to start lifting weights at the gym.
Angelica had one problem, though: she was too young to receive a gym membership. Angelica was advised at the age of 15 that she couldn’t train at the gym until she was 18, due to Brazilian laws.
Angelica was left with no choice but to practice at home until she reached 18. At this point, she began practicing other bodyweight exercises in addition to exercising with a basic set of dumbbells, emphasizing her commitment to staying healthy despite the fact that she was unable to train in the gym.
Career Journey
After three years, Angelica was finally able to sign up for her first gym membership. She began training harder than she had ever previously, inspired by the new routines and possibilities in the weight room.
Angelica began to dream of becoming a personal trainer about this time. However, in order to become a licensed coach, she needed to complete a four-year college degree in physical education.
Angelica received her physical education degree after four years of college study. As a result, she was finally able to complete her personal training certification and begin working as a personal trainer.
Angelica relocated to Texas, United States, in 2009, after working as a fitness coach for several years. Her tenure there was brief, as she quickly relocated to New Jersey, where she has lived ever since.
Then, in 2013, Angelica’s desire to compete in fitness ’emerged’. Angelica, who had always enjoyed setting new goals for herself, didn’t have to wait long for her ideas to become reality.
Angelica didn’t want to make bikini competitions her full-time career. Her primary goal was to expand her knowledge of training, dieting, and contest preparation so that she could provide greater outcomes to her clients.
“Competing was supposed to be a one-time thing for me. And here I am now, having competed in dozens of shows.”
Angelica has had a long history of success as a bikini contestant. She started competing in 2013, and in just three years, she won 12 of the 22 contests she entered, earning her the title of IFBB Bikini Pro.
Angelica’s bikini competition career peaked in 2017. Her first win of the year, first place at the 2017 Arnold Sports Festival, was simply a ‘hint’ of what was to come later that year.
In September 2017, Angelica competed in the Olympia, the world’s largest bodybuilding competition. Stepping on stage in her best version yet, she improved her 2016 result to earn the title of Ms. Bikini Olympia 2017.
With her achievement, Angelica solidified her place among the greatest athletes to grace the Ms. Olympia Bikini stage.
