Who is Solenn Heussaff

Solenn is a Filipino-French actress, model, singer, painter, and entrepreneur.  She rose to prominence as a finalist on Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown before becoming a well-known television personality in the Philippines.  She has appeared in several films and television shows, including Temptation Island and Encantadia.

Solenn is a fashion and beauty icon who has worked as a makeup artist and painter in addition to her showbiz career.  She has organized art exhibitions and worked with brands on lifestyle and home design products.

Her Early Life

Solenn Marie Adea Heussaff was born July 20, 1985.  She is the second child of a Filipina and a former sailor in the French Navy from Douarnenez, Brittany.  After graduating from Eurocampus (now European International School), Solenn studied fashion design at Studio Berçot in Paris for three years.  She also completed a 6-month course in basic beauty/fashion make-up, body painting, and prosthetics at L’Ecole Fleurimont in Paris.  She subsequently continued her education at the Make Up Forever Academy.

Career Journey

Solenn was a product endorser in and out of the Philippines prior to her career in show business.  She became a fan favorite in the reality show Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown.  She was also one of the most controversial castaways, becoming a trending topic on Facebook and other social networking sites during the show’s run.

Following Survivor Philippines, GMA Network had numerous projects lined up for her.  She appeared as one of the leading ladies in the film My Valentine Girls, opposite Lovi Poe.  Solenn starred as the female protagonist in the independent film “Mumbai Love” alongside Kiko Matos in 2014.

Her Music Career

On July 17, 2011, Solenn released her self-titled debut album through Party Pilipinas.  She subsequently had her first autograph signings at SM Mall and Astroplus The Block on the same day.  From August 19 to 26, 2011, she performed her first large concert at the Teatrino Promenade in Greenhills.

She released her second album, SOS, on August 23, 2013.  On August 25, after performing her current single, “Diva” with Ron Henley off her second album, Heussaff received her first platinum award for her self-titled album.

Heussaff’s third album, Solenn, was released on September 2, 2016, following a year of creation.  The album was inspired by love, and she co-wrote the majority of the tracks.

Facts and Trivia

In 2012, Heussaff started dating Nico Bolzico, an Argentine businessman. Heussaff and Bolzico announced their engagement in December 2014.  Their civil wedding took place in Esperanza, Argentina, in December 2015.  The pair had another wedding on May 21, 2016, in Combourg, France.

Solenn is also the sister of Erwan Heussaff, who married actress Anne Curtis.

Solenn received online criticism for a photo she posted to promote her art exhibit, Kundiman.  The photo was taken in what some netizens perceived as an urban poor area, and she was accused of using poverty as a backdrop. Solenn apologized for the post and deleted the photo.
