Maura Higgins is an Irish model, TV personality, and all-around quote machine who burst onto the scene on Love Island UK in 2019, where she made it to the finals and instantly became famous for her fiery confidence and brutally iconic one-liners. Since leaving the villa, she’s barely taken a breather—gliding onto Dancing on Ice, hosting Glow Up Ireland, popping up as a presenter across Love Island USA spin-offs, heading into the jungle for I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2024, and even making her acting debut in The Spin.

Her Early Life
Maura Higgins was born on 25 November 1990 in Ballymahon, County Longford, to Sharon and Seamus Higgins, and grew up with two sisters and a brother—aka a household that definitely prepared her for strong opinions and quick comebacks. She attended Forgney N.S. before moving on to Ballymahon Vocational School, keeping things local before branching out. After finishing school, Maura trained as a hairdresser in nearby Athlone and later worked at a salon back in her hometown—perfecting her glam skills long before the TV cameras came calling.
Modelling Career
Long before reality TV fame, Maura Higgins was already busy building a résumé that didn’t sit still for a second. Reality TV
Maura Higgins officially changed the course of her life in June 2019 when she strutted into the Love Island villa during its fifth series—arriving on Day 10 as a full-blown bombshell and instantly shaking things up. She made it all the way to the final with Curtis Pritchard, finishing in fourth place and cementing her status as reality TV gold. Once out of the villa, Maura wasted no time popping up on This Morning, where she regularly dished out no-nonsense advice as the show’s resident agony aunt.
