She is best known for creating the Game Master Network, a mystery-adventure series and wider franchise that has become a major part of her online career. Zamolo has also developed a strong presence on TikTok, where her audience has grown alongside her YouTube empire.

Her Early Life
Rebecca Lynn Zamolo was born on September 28, 1984, in Arlington, Virginia. As the oldest of five siblings, she presumably got plenty of early practice taking charge.
Before making her name online, Zamolo was a competitive gymnast and track runner. She eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, but her plans took an unexpected turn when she began experiencing severe abdominal pain and bleeding. She was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, and doctors also found signs of precancerous changes in her colon.
In 2014, Zamolo underwent surgery to have her colon removed. She later documented her experience in the 40-minute Vimeo documentary Inside/Out: My Battle with IBD, sharing a deeply personal look at living with the disease and everything that came with it.
Career Journey
Rebecca Zamolo has built her YouTube career around challenges, DIY projects, dancing, and gymnastics, proving that apparently having a normal weekend is not really her thing. She also shares a channel with her husband, Matt Yoakum, better known online as Matt Slays, where the pair take on plenty of challenge-based content together.
In 2018, Zamolo expanded her online universe with Game Master Network, an escape-room-inspired YouTube channel and detective alternate-reality game series originally known as The Real Game Master. The series follows Zamolo and Matt as they solve clues and take on an antagonist known as the “YouTube Hacker.” Naturally, because solving mysteries on YouTube wasn’t quite enough, the franchise eventually expanded beyond videos.
In October 2020, Zamolo and digital product studio BoundaryLA launched a Game Master Network-inspired endless-runner mobile game for iOS and Android. That December, a subscription service was added to the app, offering fans exclusive content such as musical performances, behind-the-scenes footage, character backstories, and Q&As for $8 a month.
The franchise has also produced a YouTube musical, Giant Rewind Musical in Real Life, along with two books published by HarperCollins. In October 2021, Zamolo and Matt signed with management firm Underscore Talent.

Rebecca Zamolo married Matthew Yoakum, better known as Matt Slays, on May 17, 2014. The couple later opened up about their difficult journey to parenthood. In February 2021, they revealed that Zamolo had experienced a chemical pregnancy followed by a miscarriage after beginning IVF treatment. They chose IVF because of her ongoing health challenges and the additional complications created by her previous colon surgery.
In 2022, the couple welcomed their daughter, Zadie, marking a joyful new chapter for the family. Three years later, Zamolo announced that she and Matt were expecting their second child through surrogacy. Their son, Zander, was born on August 11, 2025, officially turning the family of three into a family of four.
