She’s a baker, writer, and author, which sounds perfectly ordinary until you notice she also has the kind of looks that could land her on a movie poster without an audition.

The American YouTuber, baker, actress, author, businesswoman, singer, television personality, and podcast host is best known for Nerdy Nummies, her long-running YouTube baking series that launched in 2011 and is still going strong. Because apparently making cupcakes wasn’t enough—she had to make them nerdy, too.
The success of Nerdy Nummies has earned Pansino a Shorty Award and five Streamy Award nominations. She has also written two cookbooks and launched homeware collections inspired by the series. In 2017, Forbes ranked her No. 1 on its Top Influencers: Food list, confirming that she had officially turned dessert into a serious business.
Her career began with smaller television appearances, including the reality series Scream Queens in 2010. She later moved into larger projects, starring in the YouTube Premium series Escape the Night from 2018 to 2019 and hosting the HBO Max baking competition Baketopia in 2021.

Her Early Life
Rosanna Jeanne Reardon was born on June 8, 1985, in Seattle, Washington, where she grew up alongside her younger sister, Molly Lu. She has Italian, Croatian, German, and Irish ancestry and was baptized Catholic. As a child, Rosanna was affectionately known by friends and family as the “nerdy” and “awkward” one. School wasn’t always easy, either, as she struggled with dyslexia and ADHD.
Her original dream was acting. After attending West Seattle High School and Pacific Lutheran University, she moved to Los Angeles to chase a career in entertainment. Before YouTube came along, however, her résumé took a few unexpected turns. She worked as a teacher in China and later as a secretary at a Methodist church. Hollywood apparently wasn’t hiring fast enough, so she had to keep busy.
Her love of cooking came from her father and grandmother, and baking eventually became one of her favorite creative outlets. She has described it as a longtime hobby, particularly enjoying the challenge of creating themed sweets for friends. Little did she know that those playful desserts would eventually turn a hobby into the very successful Nerdy Nummies empire.

Rosanna Pansino’s YouTube career began in 2010, largely because a few friends who already worked on the platform encouraged her to give it a try. At first, the goal was simple: get more comfortable in front of a camera. Her early baking videos gradually attracted an audience, and viewers soon started asking for more. CNBC and Forbes have reported that Pansino has remained among YouTube’s highest-paid creators, earning seven figures annually through sponsorships and advertising. Yet she has said that going viral was never really the goal. From the beginning, she wanted to use YouTube to improve herself and share things she genuinely enjoyed. Apparently, the audience decided to come along for the ride—and stayed for the frosting.
Pansino has collaborated with a long list of fellow creators, including iJustine, the Merrell Twins, Rebecca Zamolo, and MatPat. She was also among the creators who competed in MrBeast’s 2021 “$1,000,000 Influencer Tournament.” In later years, however, she became critical of MrBeast following allegations concerning an unsafe work environment. In October 2024, she also criticized Lunchly products after alleging that the kits contained moldy cheese.

Her Acting Career
Rosanna Pansino’s career has never been limited to one kitchen—or even one profession. Before becoming a YouTube baking superstar, she tried her hand at acting, appearing on Season 2 of VH1’s Scream Queens, a reality competition where the prize was a role in a Saw film. She finished ninth, then went on to land smaller roles in shows including Parks and Recreation and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In 2013, she voiced Violet in the animated web series Broken Quest, followed by a cameo in Dawin and Silentó’s 2015 music video for Dessert. She also had a recurring voice role on Emo Dad in 2016 and appeared as herself on Disney Channel’s Bizaardvark.
Pansino became a particularly colorful addition to YouTube’s Escape the Night, playing The Jetsetter in Season 3 in 2018 and The Socialite in Season 4 in 2019. The collection was sold through retailers including Walmart and Michaels, and additional products followed in 2018. In 2022, she expanded beyond baking by collaborating with iDesign on a kitchen and home-organization collection distributed through The Container Store. Rosanna Pansino lives in Los Angeles, where she films her YouTube videos and continues to build her very busy creative career. In 2018, she publicly confirmed her relationship with e-sports commentator Mike Lamond, better known as Husky.
Pansino has also experienced some difficult personal chapters. On December 17, 2019, she announced that her father, who had appeared in several of her videos, had died after a six-year battle with leukemia. He had been a familiar presence in her online world, making the loss especially personal for both Pansino and her audience.
Earlier that year, Pansino was hospitalized after experiencing severe pain and illness. Doctors discovered that she had contracted a life-threatening bacterial infection, which was treated promptly. In February 2021, she underwent surgery to have her breast implants removed, later explaining her decision in a YouTube video.
In September 2024, Pansino revealed that she had been diagnosed with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a condition that had significantly disrupted her daily life. She explained that her symptoms had sometimes forced her to cancel plans for weeks and had even resulted in two emergency-room visits. She was working with a hormone specialist to find an effective treatment.
By September 2025, Pansino said her PMDD symptoms had worsened and were interfering even more with her everyday life. She announced that she would temporarily step away from social media to focus on treatment and planned to eventually create an educational video about PMDD. Taking a break from the internet is probably easier said than done when your entire career happens online, but sometimes even the busiest creator needs to hit pause.
In June 2025, Pansino also revealed that doctors had removed a benign growth from her clavicle. She had discovered the growth the previous year and subsequently underwent a biopsy that produced inconclusive results before it was removed.
Then came another unexpected setback. On June 13, 2026, Pansino revealed that she had fallen at a boat dock on her 41st birthday, June 8. The accident left her with a broken jaw and shattered front teeth. She later received treatment that included having a metal plate placed in her chin to repair the damage. It was certainly not the birthday gift anyone would request, but Pansino has continued to document her recovery with the same openness that has characterized much of her career.
