Who is Belle Mariano

Belle Mariano is a Filipino actress and singer who started working in television at just nine years old.  She began with supporting roles before becoming part of the cast of the comedy show Goin’ Bulilit, where she appeared from 2012 to 2015.  Clearly, she wasn’t planning on waiting until adulthood to start building a résumé.

Mariano later moved into more prominent roles, starring in the film Four Sisters Before the Wedding (2020) and taking leading roles in the television series He’s Into Her (2021–2022) and Can’t Buy Me Love (2023–2024).  From child star to leading lady, she’s been steadily making her mark on Philippine entertainment.

Her Early Life

Belle Mariano was born Belinda Angelito Mariano on June 10, 2002, to Michael and Katrina Mariano.  She grew up in Pasig as the eldest of five children, so she had plenty of early experience being the responsible one in the family—whether she asked for the job or not.

She attended St. Paul College, Pasig, for elementary school before completing junior high at Divine Angels Montessori of Cainta, Inc.  She later finished senior high school at Homeschool Global.  Despite building her acting career from a young age, Mariano continued working her way through school, proving that being a young star came with homework, too.

Her family continues to live in Pasig, where Mariano spent much of her childhood before becoming one of the Philippines’ familiar young television and film stars.

Career Journey

Belle Mariano’s career began when she was just nine, appearing in television commercials before making her acting debut in Lorenzo’s Time in 2012.  She quickly became a familiar young face on Philippine television, appearing in Maalaala Mo Kaya in the episode “Kabibe” and in Princess and I.  She also joined the cast of the youth-oriented comedy Goin’ Bulilit.  Apparently, childhood came with a rather impressive work schedule.

In 2013, Mariano appeared in Juan dela Cruz, Muling Buksan ang Puso, and Maria Mercedes, playing younger versions of the main characters in each series.  She later joined the cast of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, where she appeared from 2015 to 2016.  That same year, she graduated from Goin’ Bulilit, officially closing one chapter of her childhood career.

Mariano continued building her résumé in 2017, reuniting with her Lorenzo’s Time co-star Zaijian Jaranilla for the Maalaala Mo Kaya episode “Cellphone.”  She also appeared in the films Can’t Help Falling in Love, starring Kathryn Bernardo, and Love You to the Stars and Back, starring Julia Barretto.

In 2018, Mariano appeared in the television series Bagani and made a cameo in Playhouse.  The following year, she was included in the Star Magic Circle batch of artists and appeared in the film Danztep, starring Bugoy Cariño, as well as the hit series Kadenang Ginto.  She also joined Regine Velasquez-Alcasid in the Cinema One film Yours Truly, Shirley.

Then came the project that would change the trajectory of her career.  In November 2019, Mariano was announced as the lead of He’s Into Her, an iWantTFC original series opposite Donny Pangilinan.  Directed by Chad Vidanes, the series was based on Maxine Lat’s 2013 Wattpad novel of the same name.  In 2020, Mariano became one of the first Star Magic talents signed under Rise Artists Studio, ABS-CBN Films’ new talent management arm.

She also made a cameo in James and Pat and Dave, while production on He’s Into Her faced major delays because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ABS-CBN shutdown, and the denial of the network’s franchise renewal.  Not exactly the smoothest production schedule.

That same year, Mariano landed the role of Gabbie Salazar in Four Sisters Before the Wedding, the 2020 prequel to the hit film Four Sisters and a Wedding.  The film became the No. 1 trending movie on Netflix Philippines and reached No. 3 on Netflix Canada and the UAE.

When He’s Into Her finally premiered in 2021, the wait proved to be worth it.  The series had a record-breaking launch, with the surge of viewers reportedly causing iWantTFC to crash during the premiere.  It remained a major success throughout its run, consistently trending in the Philippines and helping the platform rank among the country’s top free entertainment apps.  It also became the service’s most-watched series.

The success of the show led to He’s Into Her: The Benison Ball, a special online concert featuring the cast.  VIP tickets sold out within three days, and a second season was announced at the end of the event.  ABS-CBN Entertainment later released He’s Into Her: The Journey, a documentary chronicling the series’ development, auditions, production, and the challenges of filming during the pandemic and after the ABS-CBN shutdown.  Two years of production, a pandemic, and a network shutdown later—the cast had certainly earned the documentary.

Mariano was also busy building a music career.  In 2021, she released her debut song, “Kung Ako Na Lang,” for the Kumu Summer Album compilation under Believe Music.  She followed it with “Sigurado,” released by Star Music and featured on the He’s Into Her soundtrack.  By May 2022, the song had surpassed 16 million Spotify streams and 7.5 million YouTube views.

She then released her debut album, Daylight, which included the single “Tanging Dahilan.”  She also released a visualizer for “For Your Eyes Only,” a music video for “Rise,” and a performance video for “Nights of December.”  “For Your Eyes Only” later became part of the soundtrack for her film Love Is Color Blind, giving Mariano another screen-and-music crossover.

In 2022, Mariano kicked off the year with Daylight: A Belle Mariano Digital Concert, streamed through KTX.ph.  Her first solo concert reportedly sold more than ₱300,000 worth of tickets within two minutes and surpassed ₱500,000 in sales after 30 minutes.  Apparently, fans had been waiting with their wallets ready.

Her first acting project that year was the third season of iWantTFC’s anthology series Click, Like, Share, in the episode “Swap.”  Then, after production began in February, the much-anticipated second season of He’s Into Her premiered in April.  The series immediately became a trending topic in the Philippines, while its soundtrack album was released alongside it.  Mariano’s song “Kahit Na, Kahit Pa” reached No. 1 among the Top 10 songs on iTunes Philippines.

The He’s Into Her phenomenon continued with a movie cut of the first season, which premiered at Cinema One’s Drive-In Cinema experience in partnership with Ayala Malls Vertis North and Vertis North Estate.

Later that year, Mariano joined Star Magic’s 30th-anniversary tour in the United States.  The celebration included performances at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, The Warfield in San Francisco, and the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, following the artists’ Manila show at the Newport Performing Arts Theater at Resorts World Manila.

By this point, Mariano had gone from child commercials and Goin’ Bulilit to major television roles, hit films, a bestselling streaming series, a music career, and international performances.  The résumé was no longer exactly “young star on the rise.”  It was getting rather crowded.

Facts and Trivia

In September 2022, Belle Mariano made history as the first Filipina to receive the Outstanding Asian Star award at the Seoul International Drama Awards. Out of 175 actors and actresses from across Asia, just five performers received the honor.  The other recipients were Japan’s Yusei Yagi, Taiwan’s Alice Ko, China’s Wallace Chung, and Thailand’s Krit Amnuaydechkorn.  So, yes, Mariano was officially in some very international company.

She personally attended the 17th Seoul International Drama Awards on September 22 at KBS Hall in Seoul, walking the red carpet before taking the stage to accept her award.  She shared the ceremony with K-pop star Kang Daniel and fellow honoree Yusei Yagi, delivering her acceptance speech in person.  Not exactly your average Thursday night.

Mariano has continued expanding her career into music.  She won the Listeners’ Choice Award at the inaugural Billboard Philippines Women in Music event on March 22 and announced the upcoming July 5 release of her sophomore album, Believe, the follow-up to her debut album, Daylight.  Earlier that year, she released the extended play And Solemn on January 27.

In December 2023, Mariano teamed up with Filipino band Ben&Ben for the single “Autumn,” which was accompanied by a music video.  Apparently, acting and solo music weren’t quite enough—adding a collaborative track to the résumé seemed like the logical next move.

In November 2025, Mariano ventured into beauty entrepreneurship, launching her own makeup brand, Talee, with her sister Daniela.  Actress, singer, award winner, and now beauty entrepreneur—the résumé continues to find new ways to get longer.
