Ariella Arida Is The Definition Of A Super Hottie

This super hot Filipina is just perfect for a long, sucky day.  Her looks can rejuvenate you, my friend, and you would have the energy to face life until our next article… Which is tomorrow.  So…

Ariella Arida

Ariella Arida possesses a beauty that you won’t be able to shake off your head.  She is gorgeous beyond words and her body is also a thing to marvel at.  But yeah, her face alone can make your eyes glued to her.

Who is Ariella Arida

Ariella Arida is a Filipino beauty queen, actress, and model who first captured national attention when she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2013.  She went on to represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2013 competition, where she delivered a strong performance and finished as third runner-up, further cementing her place among the country’s most successful pageant titleholders.

But Arida’s career didn’t stop at the pageant stage. Following her reign, she expanded into acting, appearing in films such as Coming Home (2020) and Sarap Mong Patayin (2021).  The move allowed her to showcase a different side of her talents, proving she was just as comfortable in front of a film camera as she was under the bright lights of a pageant spotlight.

In 2025, Arida returned to the world that first made her a household name, taking on a leadership role as the National Director for Training and Development of the Miss Universe Philippines Organization.  It was a fitting next chapter for someone who had already navigated the pageant journey herself.  After all, who better to guide aspiring titleholders than someone who has walked the runway, handled the pressure, and stood on the Miss Universe stage?

Her Early Life

Ariella “Ara” Arida was born on November 20, 1988, in Alaminos, Laguna.  She comes from a family with strong academic roots.  She is the daughter of educators Arlesito Arida of Alaminos and Estella Hernandez Arida of San Pablo, growing up in an environment where learning and achievement were highly valued.

Long before she became a familiar face on pageant stages, Arida was making her mark in the classroom.  She earned a degree in Chemistry from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, one of the country’s most respected academic institutions.  It’s not every day that a future beauty queen can also discuss molecular structures and laboratory experiments with confidence.

Her path to pageantry began with training under Aces and Queens, the renowned beauty camp known for producing some of the Philippines’ most successful pageant contenders. There, she honed the skills that would eventually help her shine on both national and international stages.

With a background that combined academic excellence, discipline, and determination, Arida brought a unique blend of brains and poise to the pageant world.  In her case, beauty and chemistry turned out to be a pretty winning formula

Career Journey

Before becoming one of the Philippines’ most recognizable beauty queens, Ariella Arida balanced a career as a technical sales executive while also working as a model.  It was an unusual combination that paired science, business, and fashion—an early sign that she was comfortable wearing more than one hat.

Her pageant journey did not begin with an immediate crown.  In 2012, Arida competed in Miss Philippines Earth but did not place.  Rather than being discouraged, she used the experience as motivation and returned the following year with even greater determination.

That persistence paid off at the Binibining Pilipinas 2013 competition, held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on April 14, 2013.  Arida advanced to the Top 15 and earned the Best in Swimsuit award, proving she was a serious contender.  During the question-and-answer segment, she spoke about the value of sensitivity and emotional awareness, highlighting qualities she believed women could teach men.  The response showcased the thoughtful and composed demeanor that would become one of her trademarks.

By the end of the evening, Arida was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2013 by her predecessor, Janine Tugonon.  It was a crowning moment in every sense of the phrase, transforming the chemistry graduate from Laguna into the country’s next representative on the global stage.

The following year, she completed her reign by crowning Mary Jean Lastimosa as her successor at Binibining Pilipinas 2014, officially passing on the title she had worn with distinction.

Arida’s biggest international test came at Miss Universe 2013 in Moscow, Russia.  She earned a place in the semifinals after securing the 16th spot through the online fan vote and also won the Ice Princess award in the pageant’s winter-themed glam-shot competition.  Not a bad haul for someone representing a tropical country.

She continued to impress throughout the competition, advancing all the way to the Top 5.  During the final question-and-answer round, she emphasized the importance of investing in education, describing it as a pathway to opportunity and a better future—an issue closely aligned with her personal advocacy.

When the competition concluded, Arida finished as third runner-up to Venezuela’s Gabriela Isler.  The result extended the Philippines’ remarkable streak of Top 5 finishes at Miss Universe to four consecutive years.  She also stood out as the only delegate from an Asian country to reach the Top 5 that year, further cementing her place in Philippine pageant history.

For Arida, the journey from chemistry graduate and sales executive to international pageant standout proved that preparation, perseverance, and a little confidence can be a powerful formula.  In her case, the chemistry worked perfectly.

Facts and Trivia

Ariella Arida returned to the Miss Universe Philippines organization in a major leadership role on February 16, 2025, when she was appointed national director following the departure of her predecessor, Shamcey Supsup-Lee, who launched a campaign for a councilor seat in the 2025 Pasig local elections.

For Arida, the appointment marked a full-circle moment.  After once competing for the crown herself and representing the Philippines on the Miss Universe stage, she now found herself helping shape the next generation of contenders from behind the scenes.

It’s a role that seems tailor-made for Arida.  After all, when you’ve already walked the runway, answered the tough questions, and finished as a Miss Universe third runner-up, you have a pretty good idea of what it takes to succeed
