Jackie Rice: From Television Teeny Bopper To Full-Fledged Hottie

Jackie Rice is just gorgeous.  And for those of you who don’t know her, well…  You will know her after this (of course, duh).  But kidding aside, Jackie here is an actress from the Philippines, and she rocks a hotness that is like no other.  She is angelic, but at the same time is as hot as hellfire.

Again, she’s got the face of an angel, and there’s no denying that she really is deserving of a spot in here.

Who is Jackie Rice

Filipino-American actress, model, and singer Jackie Rice first stepped into the spotlight in 2005 when she emerged as the Ultimate Female Survivor of StarStruck Season 3, GMA Network’s hit reality talent search.  The victory launched a successful career in show business, establishing her as one of the network’s familiar faces.

Known for her work both on-screen and in the modeling world, Rice remained a contract artist of GMA Artist Center until 2022.  Her striking looks also landed her on the covers of some of the country’s most popular men’s magazines, including Maxim in July 2009 and FHM twice—first in January 2010 and again in July 2012.

Her Early Life

Born on April 27, 1990, in Dinalupihan, Bataan, Jacqueline Sobreo Rice comes from a multicultural background, with an American father and a Filipino mother.  She spent much of her childhood in Olongapo City, Zambales, where she was raised before eventually finding fame in the entertainment industry.

Career Journey

Jackie Rice was still a student at St. Anne Academy in Olongapo City when she took a chance on GMA Network’s reality talent search StarStruck.  That gamble paid off in a big way—she emerged as the Ultimate Female Survivor of the show’s third season and officially launched her showbiz career.

Fresh from her StarStruck victory, Rice landed roles in Love to Love and several other television projects.  Her early years in the industry weren’t without a few bumps in the road, however.  She was suspended by GMA for six weeks after being seen drinking and smoking in public. Once the suspension ended, she returned to work and quickly got back on track, appearing in Fantastikids, Princess Charming, Fantastic Man, Dyesebel, and Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang.

By 2009, Rice was steadily building an impressive résumé.  She joined the cast of the remake of Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin, playing the younger sister of Maxene Magalona‘s character, and appeared alongside Manny Pacquiao in the independent film Sa Ngalan ng Busabos.  That same year, she also graced the cover of Maxim magazine’s July issue.  To cap off a busy year, she played Helga in Darna and took on a supporting role in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Ang Darling Kong Aswang.

Rice kicked off 2010 with another milestone, landing the cover of FHM for the first time.  She later earned a spot on the magazine’s list of the 25 Sexiest Women of the Decade, ranking at No. 23. Around the same period, she joined the fantasy series Panday Kids before stepping into lead roles in Dear Friend Presents: Tisay and Ilumina, where she embraced her darker side as a sorceress possessed by a demon.  Not exactly the typical girl-next-door role.

As her career evolved, Rice became increasingly known for playing memorable antagonists.  In 2017, she joined the cast of My Love from the Star, the Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean drama.  A year later, she portrayed the unhinged Ava, the main villain of Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka.  Then in 2019, she switched gears completely as Tiffy, the playful and often hilarious supporting villain in TODA One I Love.

Rice herself has pointed out just how different those characters were.  While Ava was a dark and cold-blooded murderer, Tiffy was flirtatious, comedic, and far less terrifying.  It’s proof that whether she’s playing a ruthless villain or a troublemaker with a sense of humor, Rice knows how to keep audiences entertained.

Facts and Trivia

When it comes to her love life, Jackie Rice has had a few chapters both in and out of the spotlight.  She was previously linked to fellow StarStruck Season 3 contestant Gian Carlos and later dated actor Biboy Ramirez.  Around 2010, however, she chose a different path and entered a relationship with a non-showbiz partner, keeping her romance largely away from the entertainment headlines.

Off-camera, Rice has another great love: food.  A self-confessed foodie, she even trained at a culinary academy to sharpen her skills and work toward a longtime goal of launching her own food business.  After all, not every actress dreams of collecting scripts—some dream of collecting recipes, too.

Rice also maintains close ties to her American roots and occasionally visits her father’s side of the family in Manhattan, Kansas.  Whether she’s spending time with relatives overseas or exploring new culinary adventures, she enjoys life beyond the glare of the spotlight.

That said, her personal life still managed to make news in 2020 when she publicly confirmed her relationship with non-showbiz partner Andrew Lopez, giving fans a rare glimpse into the woman behind the actress.

Jackie stands 5 feet, 3 inches and she rocks a 34-27-36 figure.
