Who is Yeri Mua

Yeri Mua is a Mexican internet personality, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur who first rose to fame in 2018 through makeup and cosmetics livestreams on Instagram and Facebook.  Apparently, beauty tutorials were only the beginning.

In 2023, she expanded into music, launching a reggaeton career with singles such as “Chupón” and “Línea Del Perreo.”  Her move from livestreams to Latin urban music proved that she had more than makeup tips and camera-ready looks up her sleeve.

In 2024, Yeri signed a recording contract with Sony Music Mexico.  She released her debut studio album, De Chava, on May 15, 2025, followed by a deluxe edition on July 3.  Not a bad way to turn internet fame into a full-fledged music career.

Her Early Life

Yeri Mua, whose real name is Yeri Cruz Varela, was born on December 17, 2001, in Veracruz, Mexico.  She has a brother named Joshua and is the daughter of Silvio and Yahel, better known online as Papá Bratz and Mamá Bratz. Her parents are also Facebook streamers, so apparently, going live is a family tradition.

Yeri took her first steps into the social media world at 16, when she created her Instagram account.  From there, the camera was on—and there was clearly no turning back.

Career Journey

Yeri Mua began her streaming career on Facebook, where she initially shared makeup routines and beauty tutorials.  Her broadcasts eventually went viral, turning her into one of the most recognizable Spanish-speaking streamers on the platform.  From there, she expanded to TikTok, joining dance trends and posting GRWM—short for “Get Ready With Me”—videos. Apparently, getting ready was no longer a private activity.

In 2022, Yeri participated in the Veracruz Carnival alongside her then-partner, Brian Villegas.  The pair were chosen as the carnival’s king and queen after receiving more than two million votes.  That same year, she hosted the Pink Carpet at the MTV MIAW Awards. In 2023, she added television presenter to her résumé, taking on hosting duties for MTV’s La venganza de los ex VIP.

Yeri also began building her beauty-business empire.  In May 2023, she launched a cosmetics line with Beauty Creations, becoming the first Mexican influencer to collaborate with the brand.  The collection was sold through major retailers, including Sephora, marking a significant step in her career as an entrepreneur.  From livestreams to makeup counters—quite the upgrade.

Music soon joined the lineup. In August 2023, Yeri released her debut single, “Chupón,” which went on to surpass 95 million views on YouTube. She followed it with “Con to’” in October.  The next month, she made her live singing debut at Coca-Cola’s Flow Fest, performing for an audience of more than 30,000 people.  The appearance made her the first Mexican influencer and singer to perform at the festival. No pressure, then.

In June 2024, Yeri signed a recording contract with Sony Music Mexico to work on her first album.  She also appeared on the Mexican television show ¿Quién es la máscara? as the character Tutupotama, making it to the semifinals before being eliminated.

From beauty tutorials and viral livestreams to carnival royalty, cosmetics launches, television hosting, and a growing music career, Yeri Mua has proven that she has no intention of sticking to just one spotlight.

Facts and Trivia

Yeri Mua has never been a stranger to controversy, and some of her most talked-about moments have come from posts and comments that quickly set social media ablaze.

In March 2023, she sparked debate with an International Women’s Day Instagram post featuring a black-and-white lingerie photo.  The words “Puta pero libre,” meaning “slut but free,” were painted across her body.  While some viewed the message as empowering, others criticized it as tone-deaf for a day intended to highlight serious issues affecting women.  In other words, the comments section had plenty to say.

In May 2025, Yeri stirred up another wave of attention after revealing in an interview that she had paid for a witchcraft ritual, known as an amarre, involving black magic to “tie” her ex-partner to her.  She discussed the ritual in detail and later claimed it had brought negative consequences into her life.  The revelation quickly went viral and was picked up by Mexican national media.  Apparently, the breakup had entered supernatural territory.

Then, in July 2025, Yeri found herself at the center of another online backlash after saying during a livestream that she considered her skin tone “blanca Veracruz,” or “white Veracruz.”  Critics accused the comment of reflecting colorism and classism, while others turned the unusual phrase into a social media punchline.  The internet, as usual, had opinions—and absolutely no shortage of memes.

Her Body Measurements

Yeri stands 5 feet, 4 inches and she rocks a 34D-24-35 figure.
