Bridget Malcolm Feels Sexier Now That She’s Healthier

Bridget MalcolmMany people would think that Victoria’s Secret Angels love their bodies just as how much we adore them and their sexy curves. Oh, come on? If you’re a girl, a VS Angel would have been your standard. If you’re a guy, it’s automatic how you see them as damn sexy!

Road to Body Acceptance

Yet, despite their almost perfect body images, former angel, Bridget Malcolm talks about her unhealthy body image. In her blog post ‘My Road to Body Acceptance,’ she opened up about the pressure of maintaining a certain body type to be acceptable. She wrote that in her attempt to “make peace” with her body image, she threw out everything that reminded her of her weight which included her scale, measuring tape, and those clothes that are too tight.

“Basically, I wanted no point of reference any more of a time when I was smaller, or larger. I just wanted to stop looking in mirrors and telling myself that I was ‘too fat’ and ‘not doing enough.'”

Along with this, she started to relax into eating well. This means no more skipping meals, no more restricting volume, and just letting go of any attempt to diet. She’s still doing some work outs. Only this time, it “became something to make [her] stronger, not something to diminish [her].”

Her Realization

So, why the sudden change of lifestyle?  The 26-year old model wrote she’s over obsessing over her body.  She wrote, “Because the fact is, life is way too short to be focused on the exterior.  Time spent worrying about your size is time wasted.  There are far bigger fish to fry in the world than your thigh size.  There are so many better uses for your brain.”

There’s so much conviction in her blog post that she emphasized how much we can offer to the world if we stop sticking to the “standards.”

“There is a life to be lived. We have so much to offer to the world – every single one of us – and we get missed when we get caught up in egotistical pursuits.”

The Result

Obviously, Malcolm feels so much sexier and freer now.  She ended her blog post with this: “I have gained weight. And I do not give a fuck about it. My life is so much more than my jean size. And every day when that voice in my head tries to tell me I am worthless, it gets a little easier to shut it down. I am setting myself free slowly.”

In another blog post entitled “Body Dysmorphia,” the Australian beauty apologised to her fans for the years she promoted an unhealthy body image. She wrote, “I would like to acknowledge and apologise for some of the things I wrote and spoke about over the past couple of years.

“I genuinely thought that I was doing the right thing for my health and wellness. I now know that I was completely in the depths of body dysmorphia and it really worries me that I was not a positive role model out there,” she continued.
