Kara Tointon’s hotness is not entirely new to you. But she’s one of those classic beauties that doesn’t really get old (or tiring to look at).

Who is Kara Tointon?

Kara Tointon is an English model and an actress who is perhaps, most famous for playing the role of Dawn Swann in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. She also played the part of Maria in the ITV live production of The Sound of Music Live in December 2015 alongside Julian Ovenden (as Captain von Trapp). Kara also played the lead role in the film ‘Last Passenger’ alongside Dougray Scott which was directed by Omid Nooshin.

Kara was also the cover girl on FHM’s December 2010 issue
(and FHM UK’s August of 2009 issue).

Aside from being an actress, Kara Tointon is also a fabulous dancer. She appeared as a contestant in the BBC television series Strictly Come Dancing (2010). Kara was partnered with Artem Chigvinstev and the two achieved good scores in the first five weeks of the show. She made it to the finals and won the competition being crowned the champion.

In August of 2009, Kara Tointon was unveiled as the face of Michelle for George underwear at Asda.

Kara Tointon’s Early Life

She was born on 5th of August, 1983 in Basildon, Essex, England. She and her younger sister Hannah was brought up in Leigh-on-Sea. She attended St Michael’s School, Leigh, and St Hilda’s School along with her sister. When Kara was seven years of age, she was diagnosed with dyslexia. But that didn’t stop her from honing her talent as she still had her speech and drama lessons (with much focus). Yup, this babe was confident and ambitious since from an early age.

Career Journey

Kara began her acting career at the age of seven (yup, same age when she was diagnosed with dyslexia). Her first professional acting experience came when she portrayed the role of Brigitta in The Sound of Music at the Cliffs Pavilion. Her TV debut was in 1994 as an extra in EastEnders (she played a school friend of Sonia Fowler). In 2001, Kara had a bit-playing role as Pauline Young in Channel 4’s Teachers. Kara also starred in BBC’s “Curriculum Bites” as a presenter in 2002.

In 2010, Kara was in a documentary for BBC Three called ‘Kara Tointon: Don’t Call Me Stupid’. The program’s goal was to show how people can live with dyslexia and the impact of dyslexia in people’s lives.

Facts and Trivia

Kara Tointon dated, for about a year, James Bourne of the bands Busted, Son of Dork, and McBusted when she was a teenager. She also dated actor Joe Swash for two years (2008-2010). From 2010 until 2014, Kara was in a relationship with her Strictly Come Dancing partner Artem Chigvinstev.

And from just last month (November 2017) up until to February of next year, Kara is playing the role of Olivia in The Royal Shakespeare Company production of Twelfth Night.
