Who is Jamillette Gaxiola?

Jamillette is a Mexican-Cuban model and reality television personality.  She is also beauty pageant titleholder who represented Cuba in the 2009 Miss Earth pageant.  Jamillette is also an actress and is notable for her roles in and The Shores (2012) and Norte Sin Horizonte (2014).

Her Early Life

Jamilette Gaxiola was born on September 11, 1989, in Havana, Cuba.  Her father, Sergio Gaxiola Fajardo, is a Mexican lawyer who graduated from UNAM with a master’s degree in criminology.  Her mother – born in Havana, Cuba but raised in Madrid, Spain – is a fashion and interior designer.

Jamilette attended Cimarron-Memorial High School and later took up communications from the Community College of Southern Nevada.

Career Journey

Since the age of 3, Jamillette has been competing in pageants and attending local fashion shows.  She was already modeling and has appeared in local editorials such as MIA, Quinceañera, Prensa Latina, Bebe etc

At the age of 18, she competed in Señorita Republica Deportiva 2007 produced by Univision where she placed 2nd runner-up.  A year later, she competed in Miss Mexico USA as Miss Sinaloa.  Because she is of Cuban descent on her mother’s side, she was chosen to represent Cuba at Miss Earth 2009, which was held in the Philippines in October of the same year.

Jamilette also participated in Miss Grand International 2013 and finished as a Top 10 finalist.

Facts and Trivia

Jamilette’s first personal appearance as Miss Cuba Earth 2009 was at the Green Fashion Show in Miami.  The event was held at the world famous Fountain Blu Hotel & Resort in Miami Beach and was hosted by former Vice President Al Gore.

She is also an accomplished professional classical ballet dancer, trained by Angel Peralta.
