Amber recently made headlines for posting DIY videos on how to make a prom dress out of trash bags and a wedding dress out of toilet paper. Amber Brittany Scholl was born in Los Angeles, California on August 13, 1993. Her parents have been married for almost three decades. She is the eldest of three daughters, with two younger sisters, Alyssa and Angela. She is of Russian, German, Irish, and Polish descent.
Amber attended Desert Mountain High School from 2007 to 2011, where she was a cheerleader. She then enrolled at Pepperdine University, where she graduated in May 2015 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She was an active member of her Tri-Delta Sorority and assisted in the organization of fundraising campaigns for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She belonged to the Society of Professional Journalists.

Amber Scholl struggled to find work after graduating in the highly competitive Los Angeles area. During this time, she worked a variety of odd jobs, including a brief stint in acting, but she was still unable to support herself. She ran the Snapchat account for a New York-based women’s blog called ‘All Women Talk’ for a while. She applied for corporate jobs despite her lack of interest in them and was not fortunate enough to be hired.
Her only notable job during this time was driving for Postmates, which she also lost after crashing her car on July 4th, 2016. She was literally broke at this point, so she began posting random videos on her YouTube channel as a last-ditch effort. One of her videos from this time, titled ‘DIY MARBLE FLOORING,’ ended up on YouTube’s homepage, and her channel quickly gained attention. People began to watch her other videos on budget-friendly hacks, which had previously received only a few views. She quickly surpassed 100,000 subscribers on YouTube and gained a slew of new followers on Instagram and Twitter. Realizing the potential of her channel’s growth, she decided to leave her other “half-jobs” and focus solely on YouTube.
