Curvy Goddesses In The 60th-Anniversary Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

The curvaceous goodness of this listicle is sky-high.  We know, we don’t really feature that many plus-sized models (not never, just not that many) but this compilation will make up for that.  And we hope you are ready for some extra hotness.

Oh, sorry about the term plus-sized (nor curvy according to an article from Glamour).  We know we shouldn’t use that term anymore but we don’t know what to use yet.  Anyway, enjoy these beautiful, beautiful women.

Hunter McGrady

Hunter McGrady, an advocate for body diversity, returned to the SI Swimsuit set for the sixth time in 2024.  Aside from modeling, she is an entrepreneur (she launched her fashion line for QVC) and a podcast cohost.  Her first cover appearance comes in the 60th anniversary edition, where she joins Teigen, Upton, and King as one of four cover models.

Hunter McGrady was born May 4, 1993, in Los Angeles, California.  She hails from a modeling family; her mother is a model, and her father is an actor.  Hunter began her modeling career at the age of fifteen.  Initially, she was pressured to conform to industry standards, but she eventually embraced her curves and became a plus-size model.  Hunter made history by being the curviest model to feature in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue.  She originally appeared in the magazine in 2017 and has since been featured in successive issues.

Hunter McGrady is a motivational speaker who routinely appears on events and panels to discuss her stories and urge others to embrace their bodies and love themselves.  She has been acknowledged for her contributions to the body positivity movement and has garnered numerous awards for her efforts to promote diversity and inclusivity in fashion.

Kamie Crawford

Kamie Crawford, a television and podcast personality, first appeared in the SI Swimsuit edition in 2022.  Aside from the brand, she cultivates a growing podcast audience and uses her platform to instill confidence in women.  She returned to the magazine for the third year in a row in 2024, after posing for images in Belize taken by photographer Derek Kettela.

Kamie Crawford was born on October 25, 1992, in Potomac, Maryland. In 2010, she received the title of Miss Teen USA while representing Maryland.  She was the first Maryland participant to win the national championship.  Kamie went to Fordham University in New York City, where she studied communication and media. She is best known for co-hosting MTV’s “Catfish: The TV Show,” where she helps reveal the truth about internet relationships.

Kamie is fluent in numerous languages, including Spanish and Portuguese, which she mastered through worldwide travel and education. She runs her own podcast, in which she talks about everything from relationships and dating to professional guidance and personal experiences.  She has dabbled with entrepreneurship, starting her own ventures and cooperating with brands to develop unique products and content.

Yumi Nu

Yumi Nu was on the cover of the annual SI Swimsuit Issue in 2022, only a year after launching her company.  When she’s not modeling, she pursues her singing career or creates items for Blueki, her ethically sourced plus-sized line.  In 2024, she addresses the topic for the fourth year in a row.

Yumi Nu was born September 23, 1996, in Englewood, New Jersey.  She has Japanese and Dutch ancestry.  She is the granddaughter of Rocky Aoki, the creator of the Benihana restaurant business, as well as the niece of DJ Steve Aoki and model Devon Aoki.

Yumi Nu is noted for her work as a plus-size model.  She has broken down barriers in the fashion business by promoting body positivity and diversity.  Yumi made history by becoming the first Asian-American curve model to appear in the 2021 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.  Yumi advocates for body positivity and mental health awareness.  She uses her platform to promote self-love and acceptance. She is also a public speaker, frequently discussing her experiences in the fashion industry, cultural heritage, and advocacy efforts.

Sixtine Rouyre

A 2023 SI Swimsuit rookie, Sixtine Rouyre returned to the issue for her second consecutive feature, this time in the 60th anniversary issue.  The social media influencer is a body-neutrality advocate, who hopes to inspire women to embrace their forms just as they are. She traveled to Belize for her sophomore feature.

With over 800,000 followers on Instagram, Achieng Agutu, the “Confidence Queen” is dedicated to cultivating self-confidence among her following.  Now, as a co-winner of the 2023 SI Swim Search and a 2024 SI Swimsuit rookie, she’s bringing her confidence and impact to the fold. For the 60th anniversary issue, she was photographed by Yu Tsai in Mexico.

Lauren holds a degree in journalism, which has helped her navigate and contribute to the fashion and media industries effectively.

Lorena Durán

Since her debut in SI Swimsuit in 2020, the Spanish model has appeared twice more in the yearly magazine.  In addition to her modeling career, she is an active philanthropist who collaborates with groups to promote and empower women in her community.  The 2024 issue is her fourth brand feature, which included a picture shoot in Portugal.

Camille Kostek’s career began as a cheerleader for the New England Patriots.  She was a member of the squad for numerous seasons and even appeared on the cover of their annual swimsuit calendar. Camille is a passionate supporter of body positivity and self-acceptance.  She frequently speaks out about the necessity of accepting one’s natural body and has been open about her own struggles with body image.

Camille’s career has evolved to include hosting and acting.  She has hosted a variety of events and television shows, including red-carpet appearances and entertainment news pieces.  She also appeared in the movie “Free Guy” with Ryan Reynolds.
