Talent, Guts, And Beauty… This Is Jasmine Curtis-Smith

Jasmine Curtis-Smith is the younger sister of Anne Curtis, the Philippine primetime goddess—but make no mistake, she’s carved out her own spotlight.  With her striking features and effortless charm, Jasmine is just as captivating, with a style that feels fresh and uniquely hers.  Add in her natural talent and screen presence, and it’s clear she’s not just following in footsteps—she’s making her own path look just as good.

Now, it’s time to know who this woman is…

Who is Jasmine Curtis-Smith

Jasmine Curtis-Smith is a Filipino-Australian actress, host, and endorser who’s quietly built an impressive résumé—no loud entrance needed.

She’s earned critical praise for her work in both indie films and TV dramas, including her standout role in Transit.  While she’s often introduced as the younger sister of Anne Curtis, Jasmine has long proven she’s more than just “the sibling”—she’s a versatile performer in her own right.

Now part of Sparkle GMA Artist Center, she continues to balance film and television with ease—basically making “effortless” look like a skill.

Her Early Life

Jasmine Curtis-Smith was born on April 6, 1994, in Melbourne, Australia, to a Filipino mother, Carmencita Ojales, and an Australian father James Ernest Curtis-Smith.  She grew up in a close-knit family with her older sister Anne Curtis and younger brother Thomas, while also having a half-sister, Clare, on her father’s side.

She spent part of her childhood in the Philippines, studying at St. Paul College in Pasig, before heading back to Australia in 2005 to complete her schooling, graduating from Loyola College in Melbourne. Later on, she returned to the Philippines for university and attended Ateneo de Manila University—so yes, she’s been balancing two countries (and two cultures) from early on.

Career Journey

Jasmine Curtis-Smith first caught attention during her visits to the Philippines, basically just showing up to see her sister Anne Curtis and accidentally getting noticed by the entire industry.  Her appearance on It’s Showtime in 2010 sealed the deal, and soon enough, networks were lining up to sign her.

She eventually joined TV5, where she starred in projects like Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum and Nandito Ako, sharing the screen with David Archuleta. Not a bad way to start.

But it was in film where she really made waves.  Her role in Transit earned critical acclaim (and required her to learn Hebrew—casual overachiever move), helping the film rack up awards and even represent the Philippines at the Oscars.

She kept the momentum going with standout roles in films like Baka Bukas, which earned her a Best Actress win, and I’m Drunk, I Love You, a cult favorite that fans just refused to let disappear from cinemas.

By 2018, she signed with GMA Network, appearing in shows like Pamilya Roces and the local adaptation of Descendants of the Sun.

From casual showbiz “sightings” to award-winning performances, Jasmine’s career basically said: let’s not do this halfway.

Facts and Trivia

Jasmine Curtis-Smith has a refreshingly simple approach to improving her craft: she pays attention.  Her process is all about observing people—how they talk, react, and carry themselves—then turning those little details into something real on screen.

After winning Best Actress for Baka Bukas, she explained it best: she watches without staring, listens without snooping, and draws inspiration without copying…  unless the role really calls for it.

Basically, she’s part actress, part low-key people-watcher—and somehow makes it work brilliantly.

Jasmine Curtis-Smith isn’t just about acting—she’s also not afraid to speak up.  She’s used her platform to talk about issues like body positivity and even rural electrification, which, let’s be honest, isn’t your typical celebrity talking point.  She’s also encouraged Filipinos to be active voters and has been vocal when policies didn’t sit right with her.

In 2021, reports surfaced about some celebrity social media accounts—including hers—being used to share political content.  Her then-management, Vidanes Celebrity Marketing, clarified that they weren’t aware of the nature of the posts at the time and cut ties with the source once things no longer aligned with their artists’ image.

Beyond the headlines, Jasmine is also a strong supporter of ocean conservation and tourism—so yes, she cares about the planet too, not just the spotlight.
