This week’s Timeless Tuesday feature comes with a bit of a twist. At first, we couldn’t decide whether she belonged on our sister site Babesrater or right here—but let’s be honest, she’s got all the makings of a timeless icon.
Fun fact (or maybe not so surprising): Aylar Lie actually began her career in the adult industry. And yes, the undeniable hotness you see in her today was already shining through back then. So let’s get to know her…
Who is Aylar Lie?
Aylar Lie is an Iranian-Norwegian poker pro with a past that’s just as colorful as her present. Before hitting the card tables, she worked as a nude model and later popped up on TV screens in several reality shows. Music fans might also recognize her from Swedish artist Basshunter’s music videos, where she became a familiar face. But it was her stint on Big Brother Norway that first made her a household name and launched her into the spotlight.
Her Early Life
Aylar Lie was born on February 12, 1984, in Tehran, but moved to Norway with her family when she was just three years old. Soon after, her parents separated, and Aylar was placed under the care of Child Protective Services before eventually entering the foster system. By the time she even started elementary school, she had already moved eighteen times, until finally finding stability with foster parents.
Her family life remained complicated—her mother relocated to the United States, while her father was often at odds with Norwegian authorities. In 2000, Aylar was kidnapped and taken back to Iran, but in a remarkable show of resilience, she managed to escape and return safely to Norway by March 2002.
Today, she’s fluent in Norwegian, Persian, and English—a reflection of her international roots and the turbulent journey that shaped her.
Career Journey
Aylar Lie’s career didn’t exactly start in the spotlight she’s known for today. Back in the summer of 2002, she appeared in eight adult films—a decision that would come back to haunt her. Just two years later, when she made it all the way to the finals of the Miss Norway pageant, her past resurfaced. Because contestants weren’t allowed to have posed nude in any commercial production, Aylar was disqualified.
Her brief adult film career drew plenty of criticism, but Aylar didn’t let it define her. Instead, she managed to turn the media attention into an opportunity, carving out a successful career as a TV personality in Norway. Looking back, though, she’s been open about regretting those choices. In a 2010 interview, she admitted the films were made during a difficult time in her life and said she wishes she could erase them from her past. She also cleared up one rumor, stressing that she was not banned from visiting her native Iran because of it.
Facts and Trivia
In 2010, Aylar joined the sixth season of Skal vi danse?—Norway’s answer to Strictly Come Dancing. While her time on the show was meant to be about ballroom glitz and glitter, some Danish media outlets chose instead to drag up her past in the adult industry. Aylar admitted the headlines left her upset and exhausted; after all, those choices were nearly a decade behind her. Still, she acknowledged that it might be something she’d always have to live with. She reminded people that her time in Los Angeles happened during a very difficult chapter of her life—and that she’s been trying to turn the page ever since.
On the music front, she signed with Hard2Beat and released the single “Some People”, collaborating with Ocean Drive and DJ Oriska.
Her love life has also made its fair share of headlines. She began dating Dr. Ozerk Ozan in 2007, later got engaged to Kris Robberstad (though the wedding never happened), and went on to date professional poker player Albert Daher from 2016 to 2020. More recently, in 2023, she’s been linked with Felipe Ketzer.
