The Multi-Talented And Insanely Hot Lali Espósito

Lali Espósito is easily one of the hottest musical artists to emerge from Argentina—and yes, the competition is fierce. But beauty is only part of her considerable appeal. This powerhouse can sing, act, dance, and seemingly collect talents as if the rest of us aren’t already struggling to master one.

With charisma to spare and a career that refuses to stay in just one lane, Lali is the kind of star who makes multitasking look unfairly glamorous.  So, let’s get to know the Argentine sensation behind the music, the moves, and all that undeniable star power.

Who is Lali Espósito

Lali Espósito is an Argentine singer, actress, dancer, and model who has been entertaining audiences since childhood.  She began her career in 2003 in the children’s telenovela Rincón de Luz, then continued building her résumé with supporting roles in popular series such as Floricienta and Chiquititas.  A busy start, especially for someone who probably still had homework to do.

Her major breakthrough came with the teen telenovela Casi Ángeles, where she landed a leading role that turned her into a household name across Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe.  From 2007 to 2012, she was also part of Teen Angels, the hugely popular teen pop group formed through the series.  The band enjoyed considerable commercial success and toured across Argentina, Israel, Spain, Italy, and other parts of Latin America.  Apparently, one career wasn’t going to be enough.

In 2014, Espósito signed with Sony Music Argentina and launched her solo music career with A Bailar, her debut studio album.  Blending pop with electronic dance music influences, the album marked the beginning of her next chapter as a solo artist—and made it clear that she had no intention of stepping away from the spotlight anytime soon.

Her acting career has continued to thrive across telenovelas, films, and television comedies.  She earned critical praise for playing Abigail Williams in the Buenos Aires production of The Crucible, as well as for her performances in the crime thriller The Accused and Netflix’s action-crime drama Sky Rojo.  From teen television to serious drama and high-octane crime stories, Espósito has shown impressive range—and apparently has no interest in being typecast.

Her success has also translated into a very crowded awards shelf.  Throughout her career, she has received numerous honors and nominations, including six Gardel Awards, five MTV Europe Music Awards, thirteen Argentina Kids’ Choice Awards, one Billboard Latin Music Award, and seven MTV Millennial Awards.  She has also earned nominations for the Lo Nuestro Awards and the Seoul International Drama Awards.

In 2015, Infobae named Espósito one of the ten most influential women in Argentina, recognizing her growing impact on the country’s entertainment industry.  From child star to international pop performer and acclaimed actress, Lali has built a career that refuses to sit still—and neither, apparently, does she.

Her Early Life

Lali was born on October 10, 1991, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Carlos Espósito, a football coach, and María José Riera, who later became the road manager for her daughter’s tours.  Talk about keeping things in the family.

Lali has two older siblings: Ana Laura, a makeup artist and stylist, and Patricio Espósito, a former futsal player who played professionally in Italy.  With a football coach for a father and a futsal player for a brother, sports were clearly part of the family background—even if Lali eventually chose a rather different kind of spotlight.

She spent her early years in Buenos Aires’ Parque Patricios neighborhood before the family moved to Banfield, another district in the province of Buenos Aires.  Espósito is also of Italian descent through her great-grandparents, adding a little European heritage to her Argentine roots.

Career Journey

Lali Espósito first appeared on television at just six years old in 1998, when she competed on the children’s program Caramelito y Vos by impersonating Uruguayan actress and singer Natalia Oreiro.  A fairly ambitious choice for a child, but clearly, Lali was not interested in easing into show business.

Her proper acting career began in early 2002, after she accidentally wandered into an audition for producer Cris Morena.  Yes, accidentally.  The mistake turned out to be a very productive one, as Espósito was cast in Morena’s children’s series Rincón de Luz as Malena “Coco” Cabrera.  The show aired on Argentina’s Canal 9 and later América TV from February 18 to December 18, 2003.

Espósito also made her singing debut on the Rincón de Luz soundtrack, performing a duet with Agustín Sierra.  When the series became a hit in Israel, she joined the stage adaptation at Tel Aviv’s Yad Eliyahu Arena, where the production ran for two weeks in April 2004.  Not a bad international debut for someone who had essentially stumbled into an audition.

In 2004, Espósito joined another Cris Morena production, the youth telenovela Floricienta.  She played Roberta and remained with the series for its two-season run on El Trece, which aired from March 15, 2004, to December 2, 2005.

Two years later, she took on a leading role in Chiquititas Sin Fin, the 2006 remake of Morena’s hugely successful children’s series Chiquititas.  Espósito portrayed Agustina Ross and contributed two songs, “Me Pasan Cosas” and “Por Una Sola Vez,” to the soundtrack album 24 Horas.  The album ranked among the ten best-selling releases in Argentina that year, proving that Lali was already doing considerably more than simply showing up for her scenes.

Her biggest early breakthrough arrived in 2007, when she landed her first television lead as Marianella “Mar” Rinaldi in Casi Ángeles.  Created by Cris Morena and produced by Cris Morena Group, the series became one of the most popular teen programs in Argentina, Latin America, and Israel. It also helped turn Espósito into a recognizable star far beyond her home country.

After Casi Ángeles ended, Espósito began using “Lali”—the nickname long used by her friends and family—as her professional stage name.  A childhood nickname had officially become a brand. Efficient, really.

From January 2013, she starred in the Pol-ka television series Solamente vos, continuing to expand her acting résumé.  By late 2014, she had signed an exclusive publishing deal with Sony Music Argentina and released “Mil Años Luz,” the third single from her debut solo album, A Bailar.  The accompanying A Bailar Tour continued into 2016, taking her to cities across Argentina, including Buenos Aires, Rosario, Mar del Plata, and Córdoba, as well as international stops in Uruguay, Italy, Spain, and Israel.

Lali began 2019 with a suitably dramatic entrance, performing in New York City’s Times Square for Univision’s Countdown Feliz 2019.  In 2020, she entered a new chapter with Netflix’s Sky Rojo, a project that required her to relocate to Spain.  Filming began in Madrid in November 2019 and was originally expected to last four months. Then the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in March 2020 and, as it did with nearly everything else, brought production to a halt.

Between June and September 2021, Lali served as a coach on the third season of La Voz Argentina, the country’s version of The Voice.  Her team finished in third place.  She returned for the fourth season the following year and came even closer to victory, finishing as the runner-up. Clearly, Lali was not treating the red chair as a casual hobby.

After more than two years away from releasing music, she returned in early 2022 with three singles: “Disciplina,” “Diva,” and “Como Tú.” The songs previewed her upcoming fifth studio album and marked a shift away from her earlier urban sound.  This time, Lali leaned back into pop—because apparently, changing musical directions is just another item on her already crowded résumé.

That same year, she produced and starred in the Prime Video series El fin del amor.  Based on Tamara Tenenbaum’s 2019 essay El fin del amor, querer y coger, the series follows an Orthodox Jewish woman as she breaks away from her traditional life.  Lali played the lead role, portraying Tenenbaum herself, and earned the Best Lead Actress in a Comedy or Musical Series award at the 2023 Silver Condor Series Awards.

From accidental auditions and children’s television to international tours, Netflix dramas, music comebacks, and award-winning performances, Lali Espósito has spent her career proving that one lane was never going to be enough.

Modeling Career

Lali Espósito has been the face of numerous brands throughout her career, both as a solo star and alongside her Teen Angels bandmates.  Her first commercial was for MCbody Jeans, a children’s fashion label.  In 2007, she signed an exclusive contract with Argentine lingerie brand Promesse, for which she frequently posed alongside Luisana Lopilato.  Apparently, the modeling world was already making room.

In 2009, Espósito and Peter Lanzani teamed up for a special promotion for KEFF body spray aimed at the Israeli market.  She later became the spokesperson for lingerie brand Lara Teens from 2013 to 2014.  During 2014, she also appeared in commercials for Biokur hair conditioner in Uruguay and Carefree feminine wipes in Argentina.  A very practical year for brand partnerships, one might say.

From 2014 to 2016, Lali starred in a series of commercials for Claro.  She then became an ambassador for hair-care brand Sedal, appearing in its campaigns from 2015 to 2017 and returning for another commercial in 2021.  Her other advertising credits include Panacom and Terma in 2018, followed by Toyota and M&M’s in 2019.  That same year, she became one of Garnier’s official faces, adding beauty endorsements to an already impressive résumé.

In October 2021, Espósito appeared in commercials for Brahma alongside major Argentine music figures Bizarrap, L-Gante, Nicki Nicole, and Duki. She later fronted a campaign for Gancia in 2022.  At this point, Lali’s brand portfolio was beginning to look almost as busy as her music career.

Her fashion credentials extend to the magazine world, too. Espósito has graced the covers of publications including Billboard, Galore, Vogue Latin America, Caras, OnMag, Las Rosas, Twees, Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Luz, Viva, Watt, Nueva, Upss, and Fack, among others.

From children’s denim and lingerie campaigns to global beauty brands and major fashion magazines, Lali Espósito has proven that she can sell just about anything—although, thankfully, her main product remains the music.

Advocacies and Philanthropy

Lali Espósito has used her public platform to support a range of charitable causes, proving that her schedule includes more than recording music, filming television, and looking effortlessly camera-ready.

In May 2010, she and her Teen Angels bandmates took part in an event organized by the Biodiversity Foundation to mark World Biodiversity Day.  The initiative focused on raising awareness about the importance of protecting biodiversity—because even pop stars need to remind the world that the planet is not, in fact, disposable.

Espósito has also served as the “godmother” of Dono x Vos, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting awareness about organ donation.  In 2017, she joined forces with Red Solidaria and River Plate Football Club for Amor Es Presente, a charity campaign that collected donated toys and distributed them to more than 12,000 children during the Christmas season.  A little holiday generosity, it seems, can go a very long way.

Her activism has also extended into women’s rights and social justice.  Espósito is part of a prominent group of Argentine actresses and singers—including Jimena Barón, Griselda Siciliani, Carla Peterson, Florencia Peña, and Florencia de la V—who have publicly supported feminist causes.

She has spoken in favor of Argentina’s Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy Bill, which sought to allow abortion during the first 14 weeks of pregnancy without requirements beyond the woman’s decision.  The legislation was approved in 2020, marking a major change in the country’s reproductive-rights laws.

During the latter half of the 2010s, Lali became increasingly vocal on issues involving women’s rights, LGBT rights, and broader social equality.  She used her visibility to encourage political engagement and support initiatives such as the abortion-rights bill and Argentina’s Transgender Employment Quota Bill.  Clearly, Lali’s idea of a powerful platform involves using it for more than selfies and song promotions.

Facts and Trivia

Lali Espósito has explored plenty of territory beyond music and acting.  On September 21, 2013, she launched her own line of signature perfumes, giving fans the chance to smell a little more like their favorite star.  In 2018, she entered the fashion world with a clothing collection created in collaboration with Argentine brand 47 Street.

Her popularity has also translated into impressive public recognition.  In March 2014, at age 23, Espósito was ranked the third-sexiest Argentine woman in a survey reported by Radio Continental.  That same year, she was named the 27th-most influential Spanish-speaking celebrity on Twitter.  Not bad for someone whose biggest early branding decision involved a childhood nickname.

Speaking of that nickname, “Lali” came from her older brother, who reportedly mispronounced the shortened version of her name, “Mari,” and turned it into “Lali.”  The name stuck, eventually becoming her professional identity.  She attended both primary and secondary school at Colegio San Vicente de Paul in Buenos Aires’ Parque Patricios neighborhood.

Espósito’s romantic history has also attracted its share of attention. From 2006 to 2010, she dated her Chiquititas and Casi Ángeles co-star Peter Lanzani, whom she has described as her “first love.”  The pair remained close friends after their breakup and continue to be a fan favorite in Argentina.  Some celebrity couples leave behind awkward interviews; these two apparently left behind a loyal audience still holding out hope for a reunion.

In 2010, Espósito began dating singer and actor Benjamín Amadeo after meeting him on the set of Casi Ángeles.  They announced their split in 2015, but the relationship ended amicably, with both families remaining close and the former couple making several public appearances together.

From late 2015 to early 2016, she was involved in a highly publicized relationship with her Esperanza Mía co-star Mariano Martínez.  In 2017, she began dating sound engineer Santiago Mocorrea, with the relationship ending in 2020.

Since 2024, Espósito has been in a relationship with media personality Pedro Rosemblat.  Between perfumes, fashion collaborations, celebrity rankings, and a romantic timeline that could easily fill a television season, Lali has certainly kept life interesting—both onstage and off.
