New Delhi Beauty Triptii Dimri Is A Real Heart Stealer

Triptii Dimri is a New Delhi beauty with the kind of face that could make a goddess question her career choices.  She has the sort of glamour that could stop traffic on Rodeo Drive—or cause a serious distraction along Malibu’s beaches—and she wouldn’t even need to put on a swimsuit to do it.

Basically, the camera has already picked its favorite.  So, let’s get to know the Bollywood beauty who seems to have been unfairly blessed in the looks department.

Who is Triptii Dimri

Triptii Dimri is an Indian actress who works primarily in Hindi films and has built a reputation for portraying emotionally layered, resilient women in both mainstream and independent cinema.  Her work has earned her a Filmfare OTT Award, and in 2021, Forbes India included her in its 30 Under 30 list.  Not exactly a bad addition to the résumé.

Dimri landed her first leading role in the romantic drama Laila Majnu (2018), but it was her collaborations with director Anvita Dutt that really put her acting skills on the map.  She earned critical acclaim for Bulbbul (2020) and Qala (2022), with her performance in Bulbbul winning her a Filmfare OTT Award.

Her profile grew considerably after she appeared in the blockbuster action film Animal (2023).  Although her role was supporting, the movie turned her into a much more recognizable name and earned her a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.  She followed that newfound popularity with the comedy films Bad Newz and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, both released in 2024.

And because apparently acting, awards, and a growing film career aren’t enough, Dimri has also become a celebrity endorser for several brands and products.  One career lane?  Clearly not happening.

Her Early Life

Triptii Dimri was born on February 23, 1994, in New Delhi to Meenakshi and Dinesh Dimri.  She comes from a Garhwali family with roots in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, so there was already a little mountain heritage in the résumé.

Dimri completed her schooling at Delhi Public School in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, before heading to college to study psychology at Sri Aurobindo College.  Apparently, understanding the human mind wasn’t enough—she eventually decided to bring those skills to the screen and trained in acting at the Film and Television Institute of India.

From psychology textbooks to acting classes, Dimri’s academic journey certainly took a few turns before landing her where she was meant to be: in front of a camera.

Career Journey

After appearing as an extra in Mom (2017), Triptii Dimri landed her first leading role in Poster Boys, the directorial debut of Shreyas Talpade.  The comedy starred Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Talpade in the lead roles, with Dimri joining the cast as one of its younger faces.  The film initially struggled at the box office, but its later digital release helped it develop a cult following.  Dimri has admitted that the film’s commercial failure was difficult for her, particularly because she had hoped it would open more doors for her career.

After a brief break, Dimri found her breakthrough with Anvita Dutt’s supernatural drama Bulbbul (2020), reuniting with producer Anushka Sharma’s team for a Netflix release.  The film received positive reviews from critics, with particular attention paid to Dimri’s performance in the title role.  Her work earned her the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actress in a Web Original Film. Finally, an award—and one that didn’t come with a box-office report attached.

Dimri reunited with Dutt in 2022 for Qala, playing the title character, an aspiring playback singer struggling to hold on to her place in the music industry.  The film was critically acclaimed, and Dimri’s performance was praised for its emotional depth.  She later said the role allowed her to step outside her comfort zone and explore a genre and character unlike anything she had tackled before.

Then came Animal (2023).  Dimri had a relatively brief supporting role opposite Ranbir Kapoor, but the blockbuster action drama proved to be a major turning point in her career.  Her newfound visibility earned her a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and she credited the film’s success with giving her access to a much wider range of opportunities.  Sometimes one movie really does change the conversation.

In 2024, Dimri had three releases and found herself navigating a completely different challenge: comedy.  After becoming known for more dramatic performances, she admitted that making audiences laugh was considerably harder than making them cry.  Her dancing in the song “Mere Mehboob” from Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video also attracted criticism and social media trolling.  Dimri acknowledged the backlash as a learning experience, particularly because she was trying something outside her usual repertoire.

She followed that with the comedy-horror sequel Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.  While the film became one of the highest-grossing Hindi movies of 2024, some critics, including reviewers at The Hindu and Rediff.com, felt Dimri’s role was largely ornamental.  Commercially, however, the film had plenty to celebrate, earning around ₹4.17 billion worldwide.  The box office, as usual, had its own opinion.

In 2025, Dimri starred opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi in Dhadak 2, a spiritual sequel to Dhadak and a remake of the acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018).  Critics praised her performance for moving beyond the typecasting that followed her success in Animal.  Despite the positive critical response, however, the film struggled commercially.

In 2026, Dimri took another step into action territory, starring opposite Shahid Kapoor in Vishal Bhardwaj’s romantic action film O’Romeo.

From struggling with an early box-office disappointment to earning critical acclaim, breaking into blockbuster territory, surviving social-media commentary, and experimenting with comedy and action, Dimri’s career has certainly refused to follow a straight line.  And honestly, that may be the more interesting route anyway.

Facts and Trivia

Triptii Dimri has picked up plenty of recognition along the way.  Forbes Asia included her in its 30 Under 30 list in 2021, while Rediff.com ranked her eighth on its list of Bollywood’s Best Actresses of 2020.  She also landed at No. 20 on The Times of India’s 50 Most Desirable Women list that same year.  Apparently, the rankings department had been paying attention.

Dimri has also spoken about how some of her extended relatives initially worried that choosing acting as a career might hurt her marriage prospects.  Her parents, however, supported her decision to pursue acting.  In other words, while some relatives were already thinking about wedding invitations, her parents were focused on letting her build a career.
