Who is Jorgie Porter?
Jorgie is an English television actress and model. She is most famous for portraying the role of ‘Theresa Mcqueen’ in the soap opera Hollyoaks (and Hollyoaks Later) from 2008 until 2016, and for her appearance in ‘Are You Being Served?’ (2016).
Jorgie here was also listed at No. 50 on FHM’s 2011 100 Sexiest Women in the World rankings.
Before the Spotlight
Jorgie Porter was born on Christmas day in 1987, in Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. She grew up with her mother, grandmother, and sister, and has only met her father once. Like all young girls, she expressed interest in ballet and studied it for quite some tie until her ballet school told her that she was overweight to be a ballet dancer. With a heavy heart, she quit ballet immediately and focused on her studies. She later attended The Hammond School in Chester.
Career Journey
In Nov 2008, Jorgie joined the cast of ‘Hollyoaks’, playing the role of Theresa Mcqueen. She informed that she was too much excited to join the cast and to be part of one of soap opera’s most “most notorious family”.
In 2010, she appeared, with eight other actresses of the soap opera, in a music video for the cover of the Cyndi Lauper’s single Girls Just Want To Have Fun”. The single was released in support of Cancer Research UK’s campaign “Race for Life”. In November of the same year, Jorgie appeared on Issue of Sugar Magazine and in the following year, 2011, she was included in FHM’s 100 sexiest women in the world 2011.
In August 2011, Jorgie participated in the ITV dance reality show ‘born to Shine’. She failed to make it to the finals though. The following year (2012), she competed (paired with American skater Matt Evers) in the 7th series of ‘Dancing on Ice’. She finished in 2nd place this time.
Jorgie made the decision to say goodbye to Hollyoaks in 2013. In October of that year, she announced that she was leaving the show at the end of her contract. After completing filming on the show, she again appeared on final series ‘dancing on Ice’ in January 2014, which “all contestants from past series in However, she and partner, Sylvain Longchambon were voted off early in the series. In April 2014, an announcement was made that Jorgie will return to Hollyoaks to reprise her iconic role.

Jorgie here is an ambassador for the Teenage Cancer Trust and their annual sun safety campaign, ‘Shunburn’ had several images taken of Jorgie, showing the effects and damages of sunburn.
