Jasmine Tookes is one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels. She is strikingly beautiful and sexy. And she dominated the modeling industry like a storm. Like everybody else, we just want to know more about this young bombshell!
She Was From California
Tookes was originally from the United States. Born on February 1, 1992, she was raised in Huntington Beach, California. She is the daughter of Cary Danielle and Sean Lamar Tookes. Her mom was a member of the fashion industry as well, working as a stylist for 18 years. Tookes was actually discovered at one of her mom’s showroom appointments. She was just 15 at the time of her discovery and she immediately sent over and signed with a modeling agency in Los Angeles.
She Was A Fast Pitched Softball Pro
Tookes comes from a sports background. Growing up, she played fastpitch softball and she was actually pretty good.
“Growing up I did fast-pitch softball and I was the number one pitcher in the county,” She shared a bit on it in an interview with Glamour.com.
“I struck girls out left and right. That was my life. And I ended up quitting actually because I was getting too fit to model and modeling was my dream.”
The young Tookes also did gymnastics and volleyball aside from participating in softball. She’s just pretty athletic.
She Once Struggled With Self-Confidence
It’s hard to believe a person as beautiful as Tookes would struggle with self-confidence but over time, she was able to overcome it and learned more about herself. She got three ingredients to Self-Confidence: A positive attitude, a proper fitting, and being strong.
“I think that once I grew into myself and learned more about the person I am, I was able to become confident,” explained Tookes to the besthealth mag.
“I’ve always been really positive and happy and I think that when you’re happy, you’re confident.”
According to Tookes, clothes that properly fit are also a main factor to confidence.
“If you have the wrong bra size under your shirt, you’re always fidgeting with yourself and you feel insecure because you’re uncomfortable,” the model said. “When you feel comfortable, that’s when you’re the sexiest and feel good about yourself.”
The last element to her self-confidence is being strong and yes, strong is sexy! Tookes tracks her workouts on her phone to keep up with her regimen,
“I also think that it really helps to have a friend and be challenged together, or have a program that will help you stay on target,” she said. Tookes often looks to fellow VS model and her BFF, Josephine Skriver.
“Josephine and I definitely get competitive. For example, if she’s doing five pull-ups then I’m going to do six and if I can’t, then I’m going to go to the gym every day until I can,” she said. “I think that’s what’s fun about working out together because every day you’re having fun while also getting stronger.”
She’s A Victoria’s Secret Angel And Was Honored To Wear The Fantasy Bra
She was named as one of the new Victoria’s Secret Angels in 2015 and has become one of the most influential faces of the company since. She’s not just a VS Angel, but the model was also honored to wear the most coveted lingerie of all – the VS Fantasy Bra. If you’re a model then you probably would know how much of a career achievement it is to wear such a bra. By the way, the bra costs a whopping $3 million. The model also told Elle that it was her lifelong dream and it meant everything for her.
“I’ve always looked up to some of the girls that have worn the fantasy bra in the past. Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, Gisele—I remember sitting at home watching TV, all the old Victoria Secret fashion shows being like ‘One day, I have to be on that runway!’ Never did I think that I would get to wear a $3 million dollar bra”, she shared.
Tookes was so excited about the announcement that she’ll be wearing the one-of-a-kind bra. And the hard part is that she had to keep it a secret for five months.
“It was so hard to keep this a secret because it’s something so exciting that you want to share with everybody, so for me to keep my mouth shut I literally had to bite my tongue every time I wanted to say it.”
The lingerie brassier must be the heaviest and most expensive thing she’s ever worn. It is made out of 450 carats of diamonds and includes a bodice built from more than 27,000 Swarovski crystals, and was custom-made for Tookes. “I could barely breathe, I couldn’t even play with my phone or do anything,” the model once shared.
“Every time I try on the Fantasy bra it gets more and more comfortable, almost a little bit too comfortable so that I’m going to run out with it and keep it.”
It seems that she never wanted to take it off. Well, everyone would never wanted to take that kind of lingerie off.
Her Second Passion Next To Modeling is “Make-up”
The model seems really passionate about make-up and it was, in fact, one of her goals.
“My next goal, for sure, is to have my own beauty line,” she revealed to the fashion magazine.
“My go-to makeup look is always really glowy and then beautiful skin. And I love eyebrows.” She emphasized that before leaving the house, brows are the one thing you should take care of.
Tookes is regularly getting her makeup done by professionals and she has learned many tips throughout her experience.
“I think the best tip I’ve learned from a makeup artist is to never put too much powder. Sometimes it doesn’t translate too well in the daytime,” she shared. “Use a light powder and only on your T-zone, not all over your whole face, so you can keep those glowy points.”
She Considered Traveling As The Best Perk of Her Job
Aside from being able to build great friendships with other colleagues, Tookes considered traveling as the best perk of her modeling job.
“I think the best part of my job is getting to travel to some of the most beautiful destinations that most people probably wouldn’t get the chance to go to,” she said.
But she admitted that it could also demand some sacrifices from her. “My lifestyle is so up and down and things happen last minute so it’s hard to plan any trips or anything.”
“But there are sacrifices you make with any job and I just try to work with it.”
