Bilbo was what age when he went on an adventure again? And not just him, there are a lot of characters, fiction or non-fiction who did amazing things way past their mid-life. Age is just a number, really. And Kathy Jacobs here is proof that it is true even in the modeling world…
Oh, yes… and we need more like Kathy Jacobs. And we know there are more out there. Come on ladies, show the whole world that the word “Age” should be changed into “Level”.
And with that, here are 10 things about this ‘High-Leveled Hottie’ that you should know…
1. She’s from sunny California
Kathy is a true Southern Californian at heart. She was born in Calabasas. She spends her time taking care of herself, leading a healthy lifestyle, and thinking about only the things that are important to her. Kathy isn’t one to obsess over things she can’t change, which makes her even cooler in our eyes.
2. Kathy is close to being 60 (she is 57 as of this writing)
She looks better in her bikini than most people half her age, and she’s quite proud of that (who wouldn’t be?). She’s also only 5’3, although most supermodels must be around 5’10 to gain employment. She’s obviously demonstrating that she can be small and stunning at any age.
3. With age comes wisdom
You don’t always think about things as much as you should. You overthink and overanalyze things because you think too much. We’re all guilty of it, and we’re sure Kathy Jacobs has done it more than once in her life. But she has some very simple, uncomplicated advice that truly rings true when you take the time to appreciate how simple it is. She recognizes that there are two things in life you cannot change – your height and your age. So, why do we all worry about those things when they’re clearly not worth the time?
4. She loves Sports Illustrated
She’s a real fan. A big one. She loves that they, “Keep reinventing themselves and they keep reinventing what is your view of beauty,” and we could not agree more with her on that.
5. Kathy is happily married
Yup, her husband is Rob Jacobs. We don’t know when they got married, but we know that they have a daughter, Abigail, who is now 24. Abigail is working hard to get into medical school, and we know her parents are incredibly proud of her.
6. She knows her way around the kitchen
Especially the oven. She’s appeared on the Food Network to showcase her talent, and she’s been crushing it in the baking department. We’d like to point out that we have even more respect for her wonderful body now that we know she’s a woman who works with food all the time.
7. She worked in a dry bar
She was working at a nearby Dry Bar for minimum salary till approximately a couple of years ago. She’d developed a skincare line for women over 40, but she couldn’t raise the necessary finances to launch her business. She had to take another job, so she did this. Kathy had had enough of it. She was prepared to make her aspirations a reality. She said she was going to work hard and make it happen, and she did.
8. She’s an advocate for ageless beauty
She is a woman who says exactly what has to be said. She’s aware that at a certain age, women are effectively ‘expired,’ and she’s had enough of it. She’s 57, and she’s got another 40+ years on this planet, and she’s not going to quit life right now. Not when she’s got so much more to offer.
9. She believes in ‘dreams do come true’
One of the most important lessons she learned when she decided to become a model in her 50s – her first modeling job – was that you have to believe in yourself. More importantly, you must believe in yourself even when no one else believes in you. We adore the fact that she is her own biggest admirer.
10. She gave her husband a truly special gift
Her husband was sending her job ads for receptionist positions in their California village a few years ago, while she was striving to accomplish her goal. She was having none of it, so she gave him an autographed copy of her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Spread. We believe it’s a wonderful gift, and we’re sure he’s very proud of his wife.
