Who is Victoria Silvstedt?
Victoria is a model, actress, singer, and television personality from Sweden. She represented Sweden in the Miss World Pageant in 1993. She later appeared in the television show Melrose Place and the film BASEketball.
Victoria appeared on the cover of Playboy magazine in December 1996 and was named Playboy’s Playmate of the Year in 1997. She has also competed in the giant slalom as a petite Swedish skier. Victoria was the first runner-up in the Miss Sweden beauty pageant in 1993, and she went on to represent Sweden in the Miss World competition.

Her Early Life
Victoria Silvstedt (born on September 19, 1974, in Skelleftehamn, Sweden) was raised in a family of five, with one older sister and one younger brother in Bollnäs. She enjoyed horseback riding and aspired to be a veterinarian.
Victoria’s father was the captain of a local ski team, and she began alpine skiing when she was five years old. Victoria finished fourth in the Swedish national alpine skiing youth championships in 1989. However, an accident during a skiing competition in which she injured her shoulder ended her competitive skiing career when she was 16 years old.
Victoria was invited to compete in the Miss Sweden beauty pageant a few years later after her mother and sister sent some pictures of her to the pageant officials.
Her Modeling Journey
Victoria competed in the Miss Sweden beauty pageant and was chosen to represent her country in the Miss World pageant in Sun City, South Africa, where she finished in the top ten. She was signed by a modeling agency in Paris and began working for prestigious fashion houses such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Loris Azzaro, and Valentino in advertisements and fashion shows.
Hugh Hefner noticed Victoria and invited her to a photo shoot for Playboy magazine in Los Angeles. She was named the December 1996 Playmate of the Month and the 1997 Playmate of the Year. She has since appeared in a number of Playboy publications, including Playboy Special Editions and Playboy Videos. Victoria landed one of the most coveted modeling contracts in the world in the late 1990s, becoming a Guess? spokesmodel.
Victoria continued modeling internationally in the 2000s and 2010s, appearing in magazines such as FHM, Glamour, GQ, and Hello! , Maxim, and Vanity Fair, as well as working for Lynx, Nike, Renault, and Triumph International, and is the cover star for re-released Russ Meyer DVDs.
Her Acting Career
Victoria has been an actress since the late 1990s when she appeared in TV shows such as Malibu, CA, and Melrose Place. She has also appeared in several Hollywood comedies, including BASEketball, The Independent, Out Cold, and Boat Trip. Victoria has also made an appearance as a guest actress on Ocean Ave., a Miami-based soap opera that airs in Sweden and Florida.
Victoria has also starred in films and television series in various European countries, especially in Italy. In 2010, Victoria starred in Just for the Record, a British mockumentary, starring also Steven Berkoff among others. She also had a small role in the French film Heartbreaker, starring Romain Duris and Vanessa Paradis.
In terms of theater, Victoria appeared in the Off-Broadway production Pieces (of Ass) in Los Angeles in 2004.
Her Presenting Career
Since the 1990s, Victoria has hosted a number of television shows and specials all over the world. She has hosted entertainment shows such as CBS’s Candid Camera, Channel 4’s Eurotrash, and Wild On! on E!, and has hosted several award shows, including the NRJ and World Music Awards. She has also appeared as a celebrity judge on Project Catwalk, a British reality television show about fashion design.
Victoria began working as a hostess for La Roue de la Fortune in France and La Ruota Della Fortuna in Italy in 2006. Both shows are based on the popular American game show Wheel of Fortune, and Victoria split her time between Paris and Rome, filming one of the shows for a month at a time until the Italian version was canceled in 2009.
During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Victoria hosted her own television show Sport by Victoria on Eurosport. The lighthearted program introduced various winter sports in both English and French.
Victoria has also hosted several Le grand bêtisier television specials on TF1 in France since 2011, including the Christmas special Le grand bêtisier de Noel, which drew over three million viewers and a 32.7 percent audience share on Christmas Eve 2011.
Her Music Career
In 1999, Victoria released her dance music album Girl on the Run on the EMI label. To support album sales, three singles were released: “Hello Hey,” “Rocksteady Love,” and “Party Line,” and the album went gold in Sweden. Victoria released her fourth single, “Saturday Night,” a Whigfield cover, in 2010.
Victoria has stated that she enjoys singing, but it is only a hobby for her, and she does not see herself making it a full-time career.
Reality TV
Victoria debuted with her own reality television series Victoria Silvstedt: My Perfect Life on E! in 2008.
Victoria appeared in the Swedish reality series ‘Stjärnorna p godset’ in 2016, alongside some of Sweden’s most well-known reality series stars, including Meral Tasbas, Qristina Ribohn, and Robban Andersson. The show was aired on TV3.

While living in Paris, she shared a room with Slovenian model Melanija Knavs (before she became Melania Trump) when both were struggling models in the mid-1990s.
Victoria launched her own lingerie collection, Very Victoria Silvstedt, at London Fashion Week in 2006. In 2013, her brand was officially launched for retail in Paris in collaboration with the Marie Meili brand.
