This woman is insanely hot. How hot? She just captured the heart of heartthrob Maroon 5’s frontman Adam Levine. Who is Behati Prinsloo?

Behati is an International model who got her big break in 2007 when she started posing for the lingerie giant, Victoria’s Secret. A year later she became the face of Pink, Victoria’s Secret’s teen and preteens sub-brand. In 2009, Behati became a Victoria’s Secret angel and from then on she became a favorite in the fashion world. She has walked the runway for top brands which includes Marc Jacobs, Narcisco Rodriguez, Paolo Roversi, Louis Vuitton, MaxMara, Lacoste, and Zac Posen.

Behati has also appeared in ad campaigns for brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Alexander Wang ‘Do Something’, Prada, Chanel, Fendi, Nine West, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Nina Ricci, DKNY Jeans, Pepe Jeans, Lacoste, Gap and many others. She has also graced the covers of Vogue (Spain, Turkey, Brasil, Mexico, Russia, Thailand), Elle (France, Spain, Italia, Sweden), L’official Netherlands, Marie Claire (Greece, South Africa), i-D Magazine, V Magazine, Mexican GQ, Russh Magazine to name a few (Yes, that was just a few) and has also been featured in fashion editorials for Vogue, Elle, American Velvet, and The Daily Telegraph.

Apart from being an acclaimed model, Behati is also a fashion designer. In 2010, Behati designed a swimsuit capsule collection for Victoria’s Secret called ‘Behati Loves Pink’ and in 2014, she designed a denim line for THVM. She also has designed a fashion and accessories collection for the brand Juicy Couture.

Aside from her mother agency Storm, Behati has also modeled for other agencies, like Elite Model Management (Paris), Women Management (New York), Women Milan (Milan), Modelwerk (Hamburg), and View Management (Barcelona).

Early Life

Behati Prinsloo was born on May 16, 1989, in a small town in Otjozondjupa in Grootfontein, Namibia. Her Father is a church minister and her mother is a bed-and-breakfast provider.

Career Journey

In 2005 while on a holiday in Cape Town, South Africa with her grandparents, Behati (only 16 then) was spotted by Storm Model Management owner Sarah Doukas (the same woman who discovered Kate Moss) at a grocery store. In September of that same year, she went to London to pursue modeling… And from there she made her runway debut at Miu Miu and Prada in Milan and Paris. Behati also did a photo shoot for an editorial for the British Vogue in the same month and year, and that was followed by another for Vogue Italia in December.

In February of 2006, Behati walked for Fendi, Chanel, and Alexander McQueen and she did a second photo shoot for British Vogue the following month. Also in the same year, designer Henry Holland launched, as part of his fall collection, a T-shirt with the tagline ‘Fancy a Screw, Behati Prinsloo?’ which added to her already soaring popularity.

Behati appeared as the rich girl in the music video ‘Rich Girls’ by The Virgins in 2009. In 2012, She made a guest appearance (playing a Victoria’s Secret model) along with models Jacquelyn Jablonski and Jasmine Tookes in an episode of the CBS series Hawaii Five-O. Also in 2012, an Australian swimwear brand called ‘Seafolly’ made Behati its brand ambassador for the same year’s summer collection

In 2014, Behati was made the face of Pepe Jeans for their Spring/Summer campaign. The following year (2015), she debuted on the cover page of Victoria’s Secret swim catalog.

She was in a relationship with British model Jamie Strachan from 2005 to 2012.

Behati started dating Adam Levine in 2012 and the couple got engaged on July the following year. Adam Levine, voted by People’s Magazine as the sexiest man alive, tied the knot with Behati on July 19, 2014, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. On September 21, 2016, Behati gave birth to their first child (daughter) Dusty Rose. And on September 2017, the couple announced that they were expecting their second child (again, a daughter as reported on the Ellen show).

Her exotic name Behati means Beatrice in Afrikaans.

Behati loves working behind the camera as well. In 2010, she did a photo shoot of her friend and fellow model Coco Rocha and her then-fiancé James Conran. Aside from Coco, Behati is also good friends with fellow models Candice Swanepoel, Doutzen Kroes, Lily Aldridge, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Behati owns a hairless Sphynx cat named Gollum.

Following 2010’s devastating earthquake in Haiti, Behati went on a charitable trip to the said country. Partnering with LakayPam, an organization dedicated to helping children meet their basic need, Behati collected/delivered hundreds of letters of hope from all over to help raise funds.
